I really want some muscle, tuner, or biker DLC's. "Off-topic over" Edited June 2, 2015 by Gamerjman19

The only thing in the textures that looks like it was from the alpha is the road textures.

Sergiu 5,451
Hello!I've been looking into beta main characters quite a lot recently and besides the already found stuff that is lesser known (for example, Toni's alpha name - Tony Facile) I've been able to find some other interesting stuff. Note: I've been mostly looking into lesser known details about beta main characters and not the stuff everyone knows about. Maria SketchRenders(full body render)(face render) -will be added later as I cannot render the head right now- We know for a fact that her head is featured in the leftover file, peds.dff. It's a generic female head model but the texture's name is still maria.bmp. Sadly, there's no texture anymore - just the 3DS Max directory. Tony SketchRenders(Toni alongside Salvatore/Frankie/ in the render below)(full body render) The earliest name we know of - Tony Facile. Curtly? RenderFacts:Main character model. All the main character models shared the same feet/hands in these renders.Made full mesh for previews - only main characters were modified in order to look nice for previews. Similar body structure: This type of body structure is only meant for main characters. Much like the suits in the final version, I suppose. All we know is that the arms are modified early cop ones and that Darkel still has these hands in his model. Alright, these prove the fact that he's a main character due to having a full mesh and high quality model for the time but who could he be? At least we managed to confirm that this is, indeed, a main character model. Logically, this leads straight to...Well, the only character we heard about that was cut and never witnessed? Curtly. His voice actor was Curtis L. McClarin who is an African American individual. Makes sense since the character seems to be dark skinned as well. No racism intended. All characters have a "Reward X" note on the board after their first mission, for example - Reward Joey.May or may not be his name but this is the longest name I can imagine ending in "y" when it comes to GTA 3 character names. ^I'm far from sure on this one but I'm gonna go with it. It's really speculative so I wouldn't take it too seriously. There's also a possible connection between Curtly and Joey since he appears in Joey's section of the storyboard. Out of place unless there's some more context to it if you'd ask me...That's all I could find for now. This theory makes perfect sense so that's the reason I decided to make a post about it. Still, it's our only lead to this mysterious character called "Curtly" and it's a damn good one, in my opinion. Wanna know why? Because even if he's not Curtly (which is highly unlikely) he's still a cut main character. There's no other cut character that would fit Curtly's description so well, in fact, there's no other fully cut character we've never seen that we know of. I mean, we've seen Darkel... Credits for the source material:Gallardo555//XP//Mr. Jago Quick fact: Both voice actors of Curtly and Darkel died last year (2014). Sinister coincidence, isn't it? Thank you for reading! It took me a while selecting all of this information and putting it together. Edited June 16, 2015 by Sergiu

Vadim M. 683
This information will be useful if someone remembers my video. Basically, this is an update for "Camera Pickup" section. A good friend of mine made "main.scm" file, where he placed all these camera pickups so I could film them. As you remember, you can pick them only by car but nothing happens. I didn't point in a video, he made these pickups to use an unused pickup function, which he found long time ago. He was 100% sure that this function belonged to the camera pickup and I didn't argue, since he had pretty good GTA 3 knowledge. After one year I decided to put this modded scm file in PS2 version just for ... I was pretty amused. This function works perfectly on PS2 only. unopescio 1,491
I reckon the code must be included in the unique stunt code. What purpose could it serve on its own though? I'm guessing to make the original trailers and pre release screenshots.
thehambone 2,915
That's highly possible, and it'd make sense. Simply hit "record" and drive through the marker. Edit out the first few seconds of the clip and BAM! you've got a cool trailer clip.
Edgrd 561
Taken from gouranga During the game you will interact with well over 60 different characters, some of which will be crime bosses and characters from GTA, GTA: London, and GTA2. can anyone confirm this ? i can't remember seeing any characters from GTA 2D era. It's probably exaggerated. Or at least that's what we think. There are some characters from the 2D era but they play a really small role (the likes of El Burro). In my personal opinion I'd say that they meant to have more characters returning but not over 60. I'd be impressed if the number was just slightly above 10.

I'm willing to bet that this was a developer tool left in. Although, it does seem odd that they would create an icon specifically for it, so maybe they had plans to expand on it for player use. As someone already mentioned, it would make creating screenshots and trailers much easier. All you'd need to do is disable the HUD, walk / drive into the icon and capture. A friend of mine checked it on Android version. Doesn't work there as well. ~~~ Camera pickup in the leaked sources has PICKUP_ON_STREET function. I found a list, where it states to be type 2 pickup, the same one, which I used to test it in-game. If someone interested. //pickups PICKUP_IN_SHOP = 1 PICKUP_ON_STREET = 2 PICKUP_ONCE = 3 PICKUP_OUT_OF_STOCK = 6 PICKUP_ON_STREET_SLOW = 14 ~~~ Please, could you film the rest of locations? Maybe these pickup were places in cool looking places? Say what you say but this place you've filmed with the sunshine and green area looks beautiful with that "camera mode" Nothing special about these places. BTW, I showed all these camera locations in my video. Edited June 20, 2015 by Vadim M.
