I think that could very well be part of the FPV control options... They did mention on the CVG video (or was it IGN article?) - that you can setup the options to click in the L joystick on the ps4 controller to run instead of tapping "x"....

 

so i'm speculating here, i think R* has given us the option to setup the contorls in FPV combat like traditional FPS games...

 

If so, that would be very nice.

and actually the skull is too... i always thought it was part of his left hand sleeve haha...

 

it's actually the right hand sleeve that has a bit of a 'skull' that goes onto the hand... but yeah i was wrong about either tat being new :O

 

zuckmyberg was right about scorpion tho but just 1 new tat may mean there's no new Hand option for tats... and it may just be a default new tat

yeah it seems so

 

the quick toss is new and also fast run is easier now too

 

 

another thing I noticed watched the trailer in 1080p on my TV that I didn't notice on my laptop before is that FP mode has sooooo much motion blur

 

check it out, every explosion and huge action event has so much more motion blur... like during Hood Safara and the Felon explodes, or during The Big One when the heli explodes beside T's heli.... tons and tons of motion blur

I was blown away when CVG mentioned you can see the headlights of cars driving across the bridge at the docks from standing at the vinewood sign

 

You can see 'lights' on that freeway or bridge on the PS3 too :p

 

It's not lights from an actual draw distance car... it's just a graphical effect, only 'lights' appear

 

If you look at all the PS4 screenshots, the traffic draw distance is obviously not anywhere close to that far haha

 

it's improved but not by a lot

 

You are correct, they do have far distance car lights, but it was not actual car lights. It was some kind of graphics/illusion effect. On the new gen and PC, those lights are from the cars now.

 

There was an interview with Aaron Garbut, GTA artistic director, where he said that they chose (in last gen) to render all light sources in the map regardless of distance, which gives the world a realistic feel in the same way that we can see light sources in the real world at great distances. Since all those distant sources can be computed and rendered as points, it's not a lot of computing load. I have linked the article a few places on this forum, but I don't have time to track it down now.

There's a new screenshot of Michael parachuting just above Vinewood Hills and he can't even see cars in downtown Vinewood!

 

if cars can't even draw in downtown Vinewood, let alone South LS, how are they supposed to draw all the way south on the freeway? :O

 

there's not a single screenshot or movie clip that shows actually cars drawing at even half that distance away :p

 

trust me I hope it's true!! :D but i need real proof... ign always exaggerates haha

Not too sure either. But the city does feel look like a ghost town in some of these pics.

so anyone have a running list of new art items yet?

 

-new guns...

 

all the guns seem to have new textures, many have new details. the Carbine is made by Vom Feuer and the SMB by Hawk & Little... (i checked the ps3 version to see if the stickers were there because you actually almost never see the left-side of guns on the PS3 because you're almost always holding the gun with the right side facing but i just checked and the brand decals are new)

 

-new smartphones

 

Michael before just used a generic iFruit looking phone but now he has a Blackberry (BitterSweet is in-game brandname) with a green case

 

T's phone is also new, now it's a red Windows Phone lookalike with a cracked screen

 

-new hand tattoos/scars (default?)

 

-new car interiors (long known but it seems like there's a lot more variety than we thought; not just 1 or 2 generic ones)

 

-new animals, pets, etc that's all old...

 

i care a bit more about new 'personal' items like any other new guns, tattoos, cars, etc

One thing I noticed in the trailer. The NPCs didn`t show the turning signals. Some of you might not care, but this is really bad if they won`t be in. I`m not talking about the player using them ,but the NPCs. I had so many crashes in GTA5 and all because an NPC didn`t show the turning signal. I had no clue whether he will turn left or right and which 90% of the time results in him turning the direction I decided to overtake him from.

^even on PS3 the NPCs sometimes used turn singals

 

i hope it's improved though but maybe helping ppl 'avoid crashes' is not a priority for R* cuz most ppl probably drive like maniacs anyhow

 

those of us who ever try to 'roleplay' drive are probably like a fraction of a fraction of a percent :O

I hope you realise they're not actual cars.. they're moving coronas (lights) following car paths to make it look like a car.

So why would they say on their video that Rockstar pointed out that those are actual headlights from cars?
