Some might argue that noone will be able to run the game at that resolution, but i think this port is way better than GTA IV performance wise

Thought it would be clear enough that only PC's that are powerful enough can do it

While not Earth shattering it hopefully means they've at least taken the time to support proper resolution scaling (and hopefully 16:10, 21:9 and other aspect ratios) and UI element scaling for those resolutions.

There is nothing more annoying that trying to run a game at a higher res or odd aspect ratio and have either the HUD/UI elements not scale properly or be stretched/distorted.

This is not news. It's not a "Feature".

it kind of is a feature, dumb ass.

No, it is not. Changing to 4K is no different than 1080p and you can do it on many older titles before the name 4K was even known.

i don't get it any game can support 4k right? it depends on the monitor?

i wouldn't be suprised if battlefield 3 could go 4k or even gta san andreas

It's not that simple.

The game engine has to properly support resolution scaling or you'll get all kinds of issues.

GTA San Andreas (PC version) does not properly support widescreen resolutions (16:9, 16:10, etc...)

You have to use 3rd party programs to get proper support (See PCGamingWiki)

performance wise? when did you see the PC VERSION in action?

anyways, the PC version is NOT a port for the umpteenth time. it's a dedicated PC game. the PS4/XB1 versions are PC ports.

It's not that simple.

n gta san andreas

it actually is that simple.

any engine not coded by monkeys on type writers will allow for arbitrary resolutions by the end user.

UI scaling is different.

15 year old + games can be ran at 3840x2160. resolution is not a feature and never will be. this is PR nonsense designed to get casuals hyped.

i was playing BF3 at 3840x2160 ("4k") before any of this "4k support" crap became a trend.

i'm disgusted by the fact that an online site touting themselves as "PC Gamer" would re-post such nonsense instead of writing an article explaining why all of this 4k support garbage is just fluff.

Thank goodness they included an FOV slider. That's some new information I wasn't prepared for.

Drill Sergeant

That would run perfect on my 4 way GTX 980s and 4k monitor.

Quake 1 supports 4k too (on DirectQ). Oh and GTAIV too if i remember correctly.

For GTAV this would be a big deal if it wasn't supported. :p

30fps (solid) is perfectly fine for this type of game.

Everyone thinks differently, please don't start a discussion again :rol:

THANK YOU. I hate this sh*t nowadays with game developers calling 4k support a feature. What the f*ck? I can load up almost any old PC game from the 90s, a time long before 720p or 1080p let alone 3840x2160 and guess what? As long as my monitor says it can run at that resolution, these games will let me use it.

F*cking pathetic how backwards we went in regards to pc gaming. Crysis truly was the pinnacle of pc exclusive. Everything after that has been console biased fail.

It's one thing to fire up in 4k but to have UI and textures properly scaling to that huge resolution and being bug free is something else. That's what it means by "support" because you can play Vice City in 4k but it's not supported by Rockstar. Same goes for higher FPS. In San Andreas if you had higher than something around 45 then weird things would happen.

I'm depressed that I seriously have to worry about not having enough VRAM on my 1 year old graphics card that puts out twice the raw performance of the PS4. Makes me very very sad.

Next GPU upgrade is gonna be 8GB and no less.
