GTA V Next-Gen Previews

I've just seen this now.

 

Well at least this time I did not overhype myself. I pretty much knew that this version of V was just mostly gonna be nice graphics, more animals and all the minor tidbits. Rockstar's last chance to significantly improve this game and redeem themselves, and once again, they blew it. No surprise there, like I said, I knew better not to expect anything more.

 

It's official. V is the most disappointing GTA in the entire series for me, as this confirms. A year ago, I'd never have imagined myself saying this about V, when I look back at the extreme excitement I had for it's release, I was convinced I'd be praising this game and still playing it with glowing enthusiasm and excitement as I speak. I don't just feel angry, I actually really do feel sad. Sad that the once mighty Rockstar North have fallen from the great, lofty heights that the GTA series propelled it to. It just so seems their colossal success, popularity, and riches really have got better the of them, and it's manifested itself in their arrogance, laziness, and complacency - V did injustice to Rockstar's reputation as legendary, gifted, unique talented game developers.

 

What a f*cking shame. Oh well, that's my chapter with V closed for good. I no longer have anymore interest in this game, and that's for real.

I expected more from you honestly. Saying this without even seeing the final version of the game and aknowledge ALL the exisitng new features is foolish, not even talking about the DLCs which will actually fill in a lot of the gaps. Laziness you say? I highly doubt what they've done with the first person mode and overall polish of the new version can be considered laziness. It's a pretty revolutionary moment for the entire franchise, probably not as much as it was with GTA IV or III but still...

They still haven't mentioned much of the new features apart from the bonus for returning players.

 

Look, guys I just can't see it. I'm sorry to say you're both just clutching at straws. Still no more interiors, no casino, and no heists. Wildlife photography, do I look like I wanna go on a f*ckin' safari photoshoot ? No, what game am I playing here ? Am I sure it's GTA ? As for the new first-person mode, no I don't wanna play COD, I'm not even interested in the much talked about Advance Warfare. Gosh, Rockstar are so f*ckin' stupid it's unreal, they don't seem to have the foggiest clue these days, as to what would make many fans like this game a lot more than they do now.

 

There aint' gonna be anything more good stuff that's very significant in this new version of V. This really is it - apart from those bullsh*t powder-puff updates every three months or so. More Santa outfits, more weapons. This is not no stupid V-hater vs V-lover battle anymore - I'm dead serious, I'm devastatingly disappointed with Rockstar right now.

Unfortunately not, there is still hope though. CVG only went to Casino so there could be loads of interiors we dont know about

You can understand his pessimism though. The delay of heists has undeniably been a blunder. But you can't rush art, developing an intricate collaborative experience requires patience and time.

We will reap the rewards of that discipline when they're released.

Reserve judgement guys, still things rockstar are keeping till release and told CVG not too do! How can people still be disappointed seriously?

I wouldn't want a load of small burger shots open anyway! Maybe the airport terminal and mall open but why small interiors with nothing to do.

 

Anyway I think it looks amazing and I'm not all happy at today, would have liked some third person gameplay just to see how the game looked that way rather than FPV.

 

Overall I'd say good on rockstar for not just throwing out a full HD remake with some added extras!

I am excited for the "next gen" version of V but R* is going to have to add a lot more than fancy graphics, first person mode and new radio stations for me to feel it was worth dishing out another $60, on top of buying the SE for PS3.

 

What I am saying is, I want some decent new additions to add more meat to the game in the form of activities, etc. Fancy graphics will only keep a person interested for long.

 

I've got it pre-ordered for the PS4 so I really hope on the 18th to see these additions. Obviously R* will not show us everything nor will they share all the new stuff but I hope it's in there.

Can anyone tell if the bullet wounds/damage system are improved - and closer to what was in MP3/RDR? I couldn't tell in the video.

 

Though, from reading the article where the author describes hotwiring the car, he mentions he noticed that he had a bullet wound in his arm, and watched the blood ooze/trickle out from it.

Yet again, you don't make much sense, sorry no offense, you say they don't have a clue to what their fans want but fail to see how everyone shat their pants and got wet over this first person perspective, I'd say they really did know their fans wanted this and acted on it. About the other stuff, nothing can be confirmed as being true or negative, how do you know the heists and more interiors won't be coming with the new version? Also, I realised more interiors doesn't mean jack and sh*t if there is nothing practical to do in them, so you just go there, look around and never go in again unless you got a REAL purpose while the fps mode it's something that completely changes the experience from ground up which no interior in the world would ever be able to do. This is the point of this remaster, to enhance the experience, the gaps you complained about will be mostly fixed in the dlcs if they're not in the base game, they still need to leave things up for DLC remember? You can't put your final words out before the game is out and experienced, period.

I want something substantive not "here's some more races and go solve a mystery while looking at some better graphics". Like a few interiors, the fast food places back, safehouses. Too much to ask for?

 

I have obviously pre-ordered the game so I am reserving judgment until I play it and hoping for the best. Just my two cents, is all.

This FPV system seems to be really optimzed / fully developed and efficiently immersive, compared to some basic and crappy option having been available just to please some FPS players...

 

Thus I am asking myself, knowing that each épisode of GTA takes 5 years to come, would it be possible that such great FPV treatment has been done in order to EFFICIENTLY support VR... Oculus Rift being in my mind while I am posting this... ????

My thoughts exactly. I think R* have missed some big opportunities here. Its a shame really. Just the interiors from SP missions/heists opened up in free roam would of made me happy
