Just went on and the second session I joined had the special crate already inbound. I was relatively close to the drop, so I flew there in my Buzzard. A Lazer and a Maverick were also coming. Two other guys and I were waiting in the green circle, but when the special crate dropped, it landed on me, and I got the shirt. I heard some raging and one of the other guys was shooting at me despite the fact that I was in passive mode.

 

This leads me to a tip you might find useful. In crowded crate drops, try to position your character so that the crate lands on his/her head. You can do this by lining up the white arrow on the minimap (indicating your character) with the green box icon.

 

Many players seem to think this can't happen so they usually stand a few steps away from the crate and figure they can run there. If the crate lands on your character, then you'll collect the goods the instant the crate gets low enough (before it even hits the ground).

Cool. Got the Fever 105 T-shirts for both of my characters now. Perhaps I should focus on spamming DMs then.

 

 

EDIT: Guys, I saw two of special crate drops cancelled because there was a guy who suddenly charged into the green circle before the special crate dropped and then a message "The pilot has been spooked. Crate drop cancelled." popped out. What a tough luck for those guys.

Agreed...the only thing better would be a system that would guarantee you wouldn't get a duplicate shirt until you had all special shirts for an event. That way if people had to miss a day, they could still get everything. This sure beats the hell out of the randomness for sure, though.

It's a shame that every time you try join a deathmatch there is a 99% chance that its a f*cking million rp + cash thing where the host has rigged it for them to win.

 

Oh well, maybe next time they will add lobby options and job options

Wow, I can't believe how my female was able to get her shirt.

 

When the special crate dropped, one guy was in a jet and he was the only one in an aircraft. He could've gotten the crate easily, but he was too busy trying to kill me (I had a bounty on me) and grief the lobby. The crate dropped in the cemetery at Los Santos, and there were many people already in the city, yet no one was going for it. I was able to drive all the way from Sandy Shores to the crate drop in a stock F620 and get it unscathed.

Yay, I got one. Joined a public session to see the 3 hour notification, chopper over to the green circle, crate drops just before I get there, killed the NPC's with some of my finest free-aiming ever, another player turns up, I go passive, collect special crate, teleport away using the quick job feature on the phone before I'm forced out of passive, back out of job away from where I collected crate, message the dude I beat, insert Charlie Sheen winning meme here.

The scenario was perfect, entered a public lobby,10 hours to special crate drop, and everyone leaves except for 4 of us.

I get my buzzard and start screwing around in the lobby and I get the notification saying it's 3 hours to special crate drop. Two of the other players are busy killing each other on the beach leaving just the two of us, me being the only one in a buzzard. Special crate inbound and i'm on my way with the other in pursuit in a car/bike. I get there first and take out whatever npcs I can with the rockets. I jump out of the buzzard and there is one npc left. I go to equip a weapon and i'm in f*cking passive mode. Before I can disable passive the npc kills me. When I respawn I see fireworks go off. The other player got the crate

Oh well, joined a few other publics before finally getting the shirt. This one was unopposed

Wasnt able to get a crate friday night but have been successful in getting the bobo and the fever shirt just wish I could've completed the set but no big deal.

What just happened will never happen the same way again. I was in a full lobby with two of my friends that I happened to join by matchmaking, and a 3 hour Special Crate warning appeared. As soon as the special crate dropped, I flew to the location as fast as I could (It was on the other side of the map from me.) Another player in a buzzard was at the crate location when I blew him up with my buzzard. I then parachuted out of my buzzard to collect the crate when I face planted into the ground before I was able to pull out my parachute. When I was just about to give up hope for the crate, I realized that I had died and faceplanted into the ground, while faceplanting into the Special Crate!!!! That will never happen to me again the same way it did!!! DANG, I wish I was recording video of that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just got the fever tee.

 

Two of us were perched on top of different buildings with our choppers waiting for the countdown.

 

Just before the crate location was announced, I called a mugger on him. He died and that gave me the head start for the crate run:)
