@santotaku, well there is no other choice, rly. Every time summer approaches everyone is busy with f* exams and stuff.

@HeresOtis, modifying original GTA SA code to fit the mod demands, also adding some of OSA Team touch like collectible easter eggs e.g.
If the scripter is able, he can code the thing himself IF it is just like original instead of redoing the code because the code we usually get from main.scm via Sanny Builder is quite a mess tbh.

@IamLuigi, if lack of activity from the team means it, so be it. But I am sincerely going to hire international team and, if it will prove itself more useful than russian, fire the whole russian team because they are worthless in that case.

@Little_Idiot, what is that actually about? :/

I don't mind giving the scripter position a try. I code in C++ so the compiled code will be ASI. It's more versatile as well.

It's a shame that this mod is mostly inactive. The mod has a lot of potential and is a great idea. Everyone would like to help, but sadly not everyone is a skilled modder or modder at all.

Yeah, and either my current team does no sh*t or starts falling apart as of atm. I still wish to avoid its death but it feels like GTA SA modding is basically dying due to lack of worthy enthusiasts, you know... ;(

I wouldn't think it's much about donations, but hell knows. It feels like lack of passion and interest in project. Even now, I posted in the main topic here about us hiring and only one person responded who, sadly, wouldn't fit the type of work even though this guy is really good.

its sad that theres lack of interest (its funny cuz i found this topic randomly and i was looking for this mod for a long time ago) and people are hyped about it even though many people want somthing like gta iv, well this mod is all they got honestly

Could you show us a beta of this mod even if its buggy ?

I'll be completely honest. In case we fail to find a worthy teammates 'till early August, we will try to turn it to SA-MP project to bring some dosh in. And, hopefully, if dosh is good enough, we will be able to hire paid personalities to get the job done.

 

If even this hope will appear to be a dead end, we will release the mod as-is when the summer ends. I am sorry if I hyped too much, but trust me, I am as hyped as you are, but not as skilled as some of my mates. Sadly enough though, those mates of mine weren't hyped enough.

I am one of those persons. If not for Nellsen's Open House project he had going on in October two years ago, I wouldn't have started the mod.

 

Unlike Open San Andreas, GTA Underground team looks like more to offer, I even saw some good russian modmakers there, like Qwerty Van Hallen, who always wanted to make a total conversion (especially for GTA III) but could never finish it.

 

If it appears that we released the mod as-is and GTA Underground team will still have enough hype to mod GTA San Andreas after that many years, when GTA SA modding might already die out, like, completely, I will be honored to know that they did start it.

 

 

...I was trying to make the team as big as possible so we have enough hands at all times - whilst our russian buds would do exams and stuff, other countries' people would do the mod. But it seemed like a dead idea as well. Ever since I've started hiring international personnel here again, only two persons responded, one of which is a scriptor - SAPD FR creator ( who sadly wouldn't do what we have to do because we have lots of SCM editing while he is C++ coder ;( ), and another one would be one good modeler, whose responce I await.

 

Let's believe in bright future, let's believe there still are enough enthusiasts to keep going.

This confession of mine have finally reached its appropriate ending. It was hard to write, and I certainly hope it won't be gone for nothing.

TBH I don't know much of modding myself, I was just trying to get a team to make 'em work on it. I know right I've learned some CLEO scripting from ITZ_XG4M3R, and he was pretty good at making those tutorials (It took me around 1.5 hrs to start understanding CLEO on medium level given I'll take opcodes for my codes later on), but I can't say I have used it ever since - I basically had no chance for it.

And well, they have mappers, and I don't have that kind of touch for this - I know since I've tried. :(

Will you guys make the doors 'see-through' instead of using a texture?

Don't think it's neccesary in most cases since a simple wooden door should do. However for the barber shop they showed some images of transparent glass looking directly into the barber shop so I guess it can be done.

 

Wish I knew coding and/or modelling to help out, but sadly I don't know a lot more then the theory behind it. I once tried Blender but it was super confusing at the time, so now I just stick to 2D image editing just as a hobby.
