So is that 300k digital pre-order bonus for PS4 the only extra perk SONY's bringing to the table?

For some reason I was (although I have not thought about it recently and can not remember why) under the impression that their would be exclusive content for PS4 also...Sony must have paid decently to have all of the PS4/Xbone/PC advertising being shown using PS4 footage only, maybe this is why I thought it.

Edit: I remember now. It came out of SONY's E3 announcement that GTA V was coming to PS4 (they specifically made no mention to Xbone and PC) and follow up allusions from this to content that may be for PS4 only. I doubt this is the case though.

Yup that E3 celebration by SONY is exactly why I thought we'd see something more.

Who knows there may be more upcoming surprises over the next couple weeks.

Just for sh*ts and giggles I check my GTA V library entry on PS4 daily hoping the download has prematurely started.

:/ with an option for 720p 60fps.....no....awww f*ck :(

It is far more noticable between 720p to 1080p then it is between 30fps and 60fps. Having 720p at 60fps would be such a low resolution (depending upon your tv size I must admit) that you wouldnt really get any benefit from the higher frame rate. Also and this I always find funny when people whine about framerates unless you have a screen that is either 60 or 120 hertz you actually dont get the benefit from 60 fps. As most lcds (which are more common than plasma) are in increments of 50s ie 100 or 200 hertz (which is designed for 25fps tv shows and movies but this is actually another topic as its actually 24 frames) you still get motion judder due to the screen and/or video unit in this case the console having to drop frames to convert the frame ratio down to a unit of 50. I see this from one of my spare tvs which is a 100 hertz to my main screen which is a 60" Plasma which is 600hertz ( well actually thats just marketing spec measured from the subpixels as its really just 60hertz) Though when my plasma displays tv or movies at 24 fps then I get motion judder. However games which are at 30fps look soooo smooth.

Anyway sorry long and boring but at the end of the day unless you have the correct screen that matches to what your displaying fps really is just marketing junk that you really dont notice (except when you dip below 30 or really 24)

Yes my tv is is compatible for 60fps., and I honestly don't give a f*ck about the improved graphics. And yes there is a difference between 30 and 60 fps.

I specifically bought the tv purely on its framerate capability.

I have to totally disagree here. I'd prefer to play a game at 60fps in 720p than a game at 30fps in 1080p. The difference is heavily noticeable, especially in a twitch game like COD. I edit COD, so I always stress captures of 60fps because not only does it make it easier to edit, but the quality is quite drastic. If I have a game on PC that has an ability to choose either, I would elect to choose [email protected] over dipping framerates. I did this with GTA IV on PC.

By the way, all TV's in the US come standard with 60hz refresh rates, unlike TV's in Europe and other countries that use 50hz. 120hz is nonsense unless you have a 120fps source, or if you utilize the frame interpolation processing, aka Auto Motion Plus.

Let's put this in perspective. ReviewTech is a guy that bashes on the Xbox One weekly on his YouTube channel, but in his

, he's now he's coming to the defense of the Xbox One version of Advanced Warfare because the PS4 version seems to be sacrificing consistent framerates for a full 1980 x 1080 resolution. Whereas, the Xbox One version's fluctuates between 1360 and 1980 x 1080. Edited by Crossed Sabres

We will have to agree to disagree. Although something I do agree with and I often see when watching PC gaming videos is when gamers crank up the video settings but end up with only 15 to 20 fps. Thats where I draw the line.

Man, as November 18 gets closer, I just feel the need to buy a next gen console and next gen GTA V immediately, yet at the same time my mind is telling me to wait until other people test the waters so I can be more aware of things such as bugs or things that will transfer.

Also, for those of you who think that video games/video game consoles these days seem to be overpriced, you should read this.

Hey didn't even open the link and knew where you were going.

I honestly can't remember all my past consoles' costs (and had them all) but do remember the original PlayStation debuting for 400$. That was almost 20 years ago and here we are today paying the same amount and getting so much more.

Game prices in general have held steady for the last 10 years as well.

What other items in our everyday lives have not increased in price exponentially over the last 5/10/15 years?

I think the most expensive system ever when throwing inflation into the equation was one of the original Atari units.

It's good to be a gamer.

So looks, like they have added a dedicated grenade button? Maybe the trackpad on PS4. Has XO got any extra buttons?

Yep IGN talk about this in one of todays videos. Also that the PS4 touchpad is clicked to switch between 1st and 3rd person views

So is that 300k digital pre-order bonus for PS4 the only extra perk SONY's bringing to the table?

There also seems to be small but interesting details for the PS4 that may also be included like the dualshock light bar flashes blue and red when you have wanted stars and the police comms sounds through the dualshock controller speaker (I dont know if the xbox one has a speaker or not in its controller so forgive me if it does)

It could be assumed these are some exclusive features???

Miss Malevolent

Ground effects are nice...but meh. I've bought it, I'm still not excited like everyone else. When I'm fully transferred without a hitch...I'll probably geek out...

I'm too guarded about the hype right now.

Ok, I'm trying to understand this correctly. Let me know what you guys think. It says your original character will still be available on PS3 or 360 after you make a transfer, but then those versions of the character will take on their own progression. So in theory, you could transfer your character more than once, right? In theory, I could transfer my one character to both Xbone and PS4, no? That's what it sounds like to me.

Can you link me?

Can you only make the GTA Online character progress transfer once?

If I transfer my GTA Online character to the new systems, will I still be able to play with him/her on my PS3 or Xbox 360?

Yes, you will only be able to transfer your character once. After transferring your character to PS4, Xbox One or PC, you can continue playing with him/her on your PS3 or Xbox 360 but the progress you make while playing is not shared to the character you transferred to your new version.
