-Triggers not analog, only digital.

-No rumble support.

Really Rockstar & War Drum?

God, anyone can do these things better.

Thing is they worked perfectly fine on original Xbox release. It's just mind boggling that these elements were overlooked.

It almost feels like they took previously released mobile game, used some kind of android emulator/wrapper and shipped it as 360 version :sui:

But... it works that way. It's a mobile game ported to x360.

Porting to another platform does not work that way, unless it was a really quick rushjob. You adapt the code to natively run on target platform instead of using another software layer.

I cannot imagine how this passed Microsoft's TCR (technical certification requirements) if that is the case.

Eh, it's obviously not emulated but probably taken from the mobilex86 build for Surface tablets running under Win8. Windows xbox port can take like 2-3 days if no extra work is made. And it seems like they did it that way.

Mobile branch does not derive from the 'old' xbox branch, hence the things which were done properly on xbox are flawed on x360.

Ma-mothers-Ma-Sister

I had problems with the "Lifes a beach" Mission.

it seems like it has somewhat unresponsive controls during the button sequences, the score is so tight making it so you can 'just' about do it, it also seems like the "perfect" bonus has been removed from the dancing mini game in this version making it harder to get a good combo of points.

Guys, stop complaining and being lazy.

If you want the bugs / problems fixed, then REPORT them to Rockstar Support: https://support.rockstargames.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

It's worth the try. Maybe Rockstar will fix the audio cutscenes issues, the mission bugs, the random freezing, the missing grass, the missing camera control when flying, so on. So go and report the issues NOW !

(I already reported many of those)

I did this and got an automated response about GTA: Online...

We're probably better off buying a ticket to Scoland(?) and knocking on their door.

-During cutscenes, any character leaving the edge of the screen gets frozen in place.

Can you explain this one a bit? If you watch the animation on an animation viewer, characters are usually frozen until it's time for their acting part. Do you mean if the edge of the screen gets to them, they freeze in place?

Yeah. That's what I mean. I know it's because they widened the screen to 16:9 and it would be a lot of work to reanimate the cut-scenes. But it is still a bug.

To people talking about the bike acceleration. That was one of my biggest issues. I was trying to get the achievement for completing the BMX course and I just couldn't get up the half-pipes. I finally found out that if you nudge the analogue stick, ever so slightly forward, that you can get a little bit of speed but it is still nowhere near is easy as just being able to tap the button to accelerate. Kind of ruins the fun of riding a bike all-together.

They should have reverted FOV in cutscenes to be equal to horizontal 4:3 FOV, but they didn't.

Same with the sky bug unofficial widescreen fixes were having but fixed it soon after without much hassle. Can't say that abour War Drum's widescreen support ;)

- Cars have very strange acceleration (too fast) and they are making strange moves while accelerating (shaking back and forth)

They didn't fix it on mobile release after five updates(i didn't test on 1.06 yet), so i'd say nobody cares.

I know im off topic a bit but where is the PS3 re-mastered version? I can't find anything on this ps3 version. I have the PS2 version you can play on the PS3 but I have no problem paying $4 for the game again if the aspect ratio looks better in 16x9.

Playing it, it just screams "mobile port" to me.

The UI, the menu, the icons, the performance, lacking rumble and full triggers.

I won't judge it as bad so soon but I find it awkward that they did that instead of using the PC code instead.

Edit: I'm thinking it's bad now. Cutscenes often missing their audio. Camera doesn't work.

If you think audio cutting out is bad, Just wait until your console starts freezing every time you try to start a mission.

The ammount of glitches in this game is ridiculous. R* are a bunch of lazy f*cking pricks for not fixing all of them before they decided to launch it. Now ive lost ALL of my respect for R*

R* lost a lot of my respect when they decided to focus only on GTA Online.

But they lost ALL my respect when they decided to butcher GTA San Andreas for quick buck.

They do not respect anything, even their own masterpieces.

The reason for the delay on the dancing mini games is due to the game being HD and being displayed in an HD resolution. This is why games like Rock Band and Guitar Hero have a "Calibration" option to prevent the delay from happening. The reason you're not hitting the points correctly is the delay between the audio from your TV and what's being displayed on screen. This problem not only affects games like Guitar Hero but also old-school games like Mike Tysons Punch Out, where beating Mike Tyson is almost impossible due to the delay on screen.

Also, the reason that characters freeze offscreen is because the games FOV has been increased to accommodate the 1280x720 resolution. You didn't see this on the standard version because the "Widescreen" option was just stretching the screen so characters would exit the screen then freeze. Since the FOV has been increased you can see much more from the cameras perspective including characters frozen waiting for their next animation call to happen.

Captain Mannering

I also noticed that because the mission "Life's a Beach" is not functioning properly, it's virtually impossible to progress any further in the game.

Getting "Great" when hitting every button at the right time and only scoring about 2,000 doesn't seem right at all.

I'm in the same boat. Now I have to HOPE the game works properly when I get to the Lifes a Beach mission this time. :facedesk:

Hey guys, I was able to complete 'Life's A Beach' using this glitch:

I couldn't shoot the guy with a pistol though for some reason, I had to use an SMG.

Used the hydra cheat to fly around. Amazing I still have it memorized after ten years y y x b a l l down up.

1. It controls like diarrhea

2. Increased draw distance is a complete lie

Came here to see what others found...

THIS IS AN IOS PORT???!?!? Who the f*ck at rockstar thought porting a dumbed down iOS version would be even remotely proper.

My 360 is backwards compatible, I bought this because I thought it would blow the Xbox original away. This is violent rapey travesty of one if the best games ever made. It's like a god damn war crime genocide in video game terms to have an abortion edition of a game this good.

Preorder cancelled.
