Beta version is best version, am I rite guise. :pp

 

I preferred the beta police car livery. I wish it still appeared in the final game, maybe via the use of a secondary police car model. In addition to the one we received. :)

The beta radar was like III's radar, there's one color (blue) and roads and buildings are transparent.

That's right, that was probably the game's earliest title, as that magazine is dated early 2002.

Actually this was right. TBH I think it was supossed to be something like London 1961/1969. And BTW that is a mod's forum. :p

BTW, just noticed something at the MH Blista Compact. It's textures don't have the 'blistac' part name, but 'civic' (take a look at Aztecas' MH Blista, and see the textures. There are 2 textures which have the 'civic' name), and Blista Compact is based on Honda Civic, right? It seems that some cars were named after their real life counterparts in files, like in LCS (spyder and some other ones).

Isn't GTA 5's hydra is called "the harrier" in the files?

It's a place holder and isn't manhunt was in development along with vice city?

I was doing some thinking and remembered that the beta Freeway model is inside the biker bar and it got me thinking; could the Speeder on the back of Cortez yacht be a beta Speeder? It has a different body texture which would make sense since his Yacht is used pretty early on in the game so it would've presumably been created early in the development process.

 

Anyway, here's the textures of the body from both .txd files; the Speeder is the silver one and is found in speeder.txd, and the Yacht version is found in yt_launch.txd. I compared the other images in the Yacht .txd are just lower res versions of the Speeders textures.

And yes, AFAIR, about the MH and VC developing.

 

Oh yeah, Lance's heli from the first cutscene is actually BETA.

Cutscene heli's body texture is bigger than the regular Maverick albeit darker. The interior texture is the same although there's another texture (csmaverick2) that I have no idea what it is. Then there's Lance's texture and the rotors texture too.

I'm suprised no one's mentioned the "removed" Mr. Moffat mission:

  • After completing all the asset missions, the player was supposed to get a phone call from a character called Mr. Moffat who used a payphone to contact Tommy. He mentioned that he escaped the coop again, but it won't be long until 'they' track him down. After a short conversion Tommy decided to go take a look for Moffat and help him out. This mission's script can still be found in game files.

Source?Same for the so-belived Blista GPX. But I am pretty sure they are just copy-pastes from Wikis.
