Do crates still drop in Invite Only sessions?

Invite is working, just make sure you do a gang attack, and deliver a high priority vehicle to trigger the crate drop.

I got Bounce a few minutes ago with my female, and a bit earlier, 2 KDST with my male. Invite only, no gang attacks, just HPV and armour truck.

Can anyone please invite me to their lobby :( I can't get any crates at all and I've been playing every day since it started. I think my character is glitched. Please invite V1ceC1ty (xbox360) I will love you forever I only want K-DST shirt :(

Yeah, I got the K-ROSE one twice before my string of KDST ones.

 

Just got the notification...20 minutes until hopefully a different shirt.

Can't help on XBox, but what level are you? Be you sure that you:

 

A - are level 12.

B - have played a Trevor mission.

 

That is why they weren't dropping for me at first, I was on my 2nd character and had not played a Trevor mission with her.

First off: confirming once more that closed friend sessions spawn the special crate and require only one person.

 

Secondly, I personally went through three instances of armored trucks and HPV's each before a crate dropped. After picking it up, I received the KDST t-shirt and found it in the Special Tops section within the nearest clothing store in the same minute.

 

Note: This is the first special crate I've picked up during this event, so I'm guessing that everyone who keeps getting the Bouce FM t-shirt every single time they pick up a crate is just unlucky. Also, if it's worth commenting about, I am wearing no event clothing.

 

An update: Just picked up a second crate and it's another KDST t-shirt. I left the previous session after getting my that first crate, and remade a friend-only session. What a bummer.

 

Another update: Three crates in and all I'm getting are KDST t-shirts. BRB, Bitch & Moan thread. D=<

I finally managed to trigger special crate drops in an Invite-Only session and have so far obtained two Bounce t-shirts. In other words, this is going to be a long night.

 

E: I just picked up another Bounce t-shirt. :sui:

Simply playing a Trevor mission isn't enough to unlock crate drops. You have to have met him as well as received a call from Ron confirming that you've unlocked them. You can find out if you have indeed unlocked crate drops via your stats by going to the Pause Menu > Stats > Unlocks > Content, and then scrolling down towards Crate Drop which is roughly in the middle of the list. Though I'm not certain, I'm pretty sure you also have to be the one to host the Trevor mission after he sends it to your phone.

Im only getting KJAH and KROSE shirts damn.. btw i didnt know the crates spawn in invite only w only 2 players but they do asthere was 2 special crates in the same lobby w only me and 1 player from my crew

Ok that explains why i never got one, it does say Locked. How do i get to meet trevor and ron? I've never got a call from them the whole time i've played

I don't entirely remember, since you're supposed to have met them at around rank 20 which was almost a year ago for me. From what I do remember though, you meet them by playing the Online "story mode" which is essentially the tutorial. You meet Ron after doing some Gerald missions and then Trevor shortly after doing some Ron missions. All of these missions must be done by accepting an invitation sent by the contact themselves to your phone, rather than by another player or using the Jobs menu. It's vital to do so in order to progress through the story.
