Bugs, Glitches, and Incompletes

Not sure if this qualifies as a "bug" or "incomplete", but anyhow... Thought I'd give it a try with GTA: LC, for the first time in a long while. Unfortunately, I can't seem to make it beyond introduction (cutscene), before the entire game crashes. Come to think of it, I couldn't even get the game to start, without removing, deleting ASI plugins... Apparently they were the ones to cause crash. I'm also missing "Audio Hardware", according to the game. Therefore I can't even access sound sub-menu, in settings.

And yes, I have the entire GTA3 audio folder copied over from a CD. 206 files in total, +2 additional "SFX" ones. For what it's worth, I gave it a try with both original & non-original, cracked gta-vc.exe, none of them made any difference. Any idea what's causing these issues? I'm running 64-bit Windows 7

Problem resolved... Please, it should be noted in the instructions (readme file?) that you need to have a copy of Vice City that's been previously activated, as in played BEFORE installing GTA: LC over it. Installing a fresh copy of Vice & immediately using it for GTA: LC isn't going to work, because it seems to be missing certain files.

I had that issue too a while ago. I'm not sure when things got broken. The one I'm using now is GTAVC.WidescreenFix.asi and it's dated March 5, 2017 and is 289,792 bytes (290,816 on disk).

Hey, it's there anyway to solve the textures pop in bug when i import a vehicle mod, i'm sorry if it is the wrong place to ask this, i don't know the current topics, i search and i find that i need to increase the strem memory fix of the gta_vc.exe higher than 45, i did it, but it keeps happening, if anyone knows what is happening, please tell me.

Could post a screenshot of what the issue is? It'll be more helpful in that manner.

Are you using the latest Beta 4.0? If not, try the latest release. If yes, do you have any additional mods that may be causing this issue?

Yes, I'm using the latest release, and I am using mods. Mainly the LCS vehicles mod, so I have a feel of "new" into the game (plus I really like LCS's PCJ). I'll try redoing that in vanilla LC and see if it fixes it. Thanks and keep up the great work

Check the last couple of pages on mission coding topic. It has two incremental updates (latest one is from August 28th 2017). Try removing the vehicles and see. If the replacement of vehicle models screws up the Dodo in that mission (S.A.M), it's possible to fail it.

That has nothing to do with loading the save AFAIK. The save games should load irrespective of debug mode. Also, when in Debug mode, The Exchange is the first mission which I have always completed.

I updated the script but I had to redo the missions up until "Marked Man", then a new issue showed up.
Apparently Ray decided to spawn twice.

train and save house is too much glitched like when sometimes i try to save the game claude gets stuck inside the house

and sometimes the train stops and dosen't move ever again and when i touch the train it will never come back and dissapear from the game forever! plus sometimes claude when entering the train gets killed randomly TIP:you should basically add a animation for claude entering the train just like in 3 and lcs and after that when claude enters the train it will turn vehicle camera into cinematic mode till the player exits the train after player exiting it will turn vehicle view back into the default one and turn the hud mode into cutscene mode

the saving game bug well it only happens rarely. but the train isn't working it just stops at the red light district station and never moves again and if i go in front of the train and touch it claude dies instantly and the train vanishes and never comes back any fixes? cause i really wanna ride the train again

also train's doors are closed too so i can't enter either

Anybody else have no audio on the cutscenes for Bomb Da Base 1 and 2? I only have a few basic mods installed, Ginput so I can play with a controller, Cleo with a single script (Save Anywhere), and the Xbox vehicle textures. None of which I think should cause an issue. I've done a half dozen or so missions since and there's no problem with anything else. Obviously since I'm already on the second island it's not a big deal anymore but I'd love to know what caused it and how to fix it.

Edit: Did a fresh reinstall, used the debug feature to get to the mission again and now it works perfect. Weird.

I am having problems with the police sirens crashing my game, before just entering the Police car would crash it, but now it crashes if the Kuruma goes fast in the Give Me Liberty mission from the police cars , and the first Salvatore mission to drive Maria to Chico and the club on the limo, when the swat\police arrive it crashes too.

And any way to use maxo's vehicle loader with this? version 4.0 with the update.

Hello Craig. I have a bug. When I set "change appearance" from 1 to 0 in gta-lc.ini and start a new game, it freezes when the newspaper with a handsome Claude appears. Could you please help me with that? Thanks.

Edit: This is an incompatibility with SilentPatch, I fixed it here.

I know this is an old post, but I had the exact same issue. I solved it by disabling DEP (classic). What caused it? I'm not sure why, but for some reason SilentPatch was interfering with the GTA LC asi files. So whenever I tried using any car siren, the game would crash. If anyone encounters this problem again, either get rid of SilentPatch or disable DEP.

When using GTA III vehicle models (.dff) in GTA:LC (also in Vice City) there is a vehicle color bug. Some vehicles have this bug some have don't. You don't see the vehicle's true colors. You see the vehicle in like black or gray colors. I see this problem especially in single color vehicles like Yakuza or Columb. I made lots of tryouts but I couldn't fix the problem. I think need to do some changes in .dff model but I don't know what to change.

This is kind of important, so I wanna write up about it. The Bodycast damage is not applied when running over the object with a car. But why?

You see, the very first time you hit the bodycast with a vehicle, it will take damage, but not on subsequent times.

This is actually tied to the "Collision Damage Effect". The bodycast uses 1 (change_model), so it can only be damaged by car wheels once. If you give it type 50 (smash_cardbox_completely), it works like you'd expect.

Can anyone with more experience with this give me a hand? Why does this happen? While this solution works, it makes the bodycast burst when destroyed, so it just looks silly.

EDIT: I came up with a workaround:

1.- set the bodycast "Collision Damage Effect" to "20" in object.dat

bodycast,                   100.0,           150.0         0.99,   0.1,    50.0,   0.0,     1.0,     20,       2,        0

2.- Patch the jump for this effect so it behaves like 1 "change_model"

This will make it so the bodycast can be damaged by a vehicle, like in III. Note that the damage effect used (20) is unused in both VC and III, so it doesn't interfere with the base game.

Bug report. There are two rampages at Wichita Gardens/Shoreside Vale around the safehouse. They are both related to Southside Hoods gang. Gangs are not spawning. I completed the other rampages but in these two rampage, gangs are not spawning. Not only gangs, any pedestrians are not spawning during these two rampages.

#2 Behead 20 Southside Hoods in 2 minutes using an M-16.

#3 Splatter 20 Southside Hoods in 2 minutes using a Shotgun.

I passed this two rampages by manually spawning Hoods pedestrians with a ped spawning CLEO mod and killing them but of course it's not a solution.
