[PS3 & PS4] Dillono's Reviews of Captures, Races, DMs, and mor

THIS PROJECT HAS BEEN DISBANDED,

I APOLOGIZE FOR THOSE I COULD NOT SUPPLY REVIEWS FOR.
IN THE MEANTIME,
ENJOY THE ARCHIVE:

I know what you're thinking, "Why is Dillono making a review thread when others already have one?" I've been apart of the content creator community long enough to see great jobs and great reviews as references, so I think I'm able to write reviews, and the community on these forums have a lot of great creations that I think could improve, or should have the spotlight. Also, I'll have a different format for reviews, and a ___ out of 10 rating system.

Formats will look like this:

Races:

Checkpoint placement: Basically, this is where I talk about the CP (checkpoint) placement of your race, mostly stuff like, "CP 9 needs to be pushed back." or "Add some barriers by CP 5."

Props: This sub-section applies to all job modes, as you can use them in any job (Air races are exceptions). I'll talk about them in races in the terms of barriers, decorations, or ramps.

Overall: Here in the overall verdict I give your a race my ___ out of 10, and a little comment at the end.

Deathmatches/LTSes:

Props: In this term of prop placement, I'll mostly focus on the prop variants you used for cover, ladders, or even as pathways.

Weapon Placement: This sub-section applies to Capture, LTSes, and Deathmatch game modes. Weapon Placement is a crucial part of Deathmatches and LTSes, so you best make sure it's top-notch! I will also give feedback on this like CP placement for races.

Team Start & Spawn Points: Spawn points will only apply to Deathmatches, as LTSes don't have a respawn system (duh). If spawn points are too ballsy, I'll ask the creator to change them to different spots and whatnot.

Overall: Works just as it does with races, ___ out of 10, comment goes here.

Captures:

Props: You know the drill on props by now, however this one will be a slight combination of races and Deathmatches/LTSes, as the capture points would be blood-bathes, and taking the objective to your base (depending on how open your creation is) might need a couple of signs to direct the player to it, or alternatively the props you use on the way to base, like ramps.

Actors: Actors are a huuuuge part of the capture creator, and definitely deserve it's own sub-section.

Weapon placement: Like always, I'll judge this sub-section on where and how you place your weapons, either at a base, or by the capture objective.

Overall: Absolute same thing here, ___ out of 10, comment here.

Limit yourself to one job per post, as giving an in-depth review of 5 jobs by the same creator would just be overkill. You also have to have your creation reviewed by me before submitting a new one, resubmissions are allowed though.

Here's a LTS in the forest surrounding Paleto Bay.

Job title - The Paleto Forest.

Job description - A stretched out fight in the woods near the town of Paleto Bay, take cover or get to a vantage point with a rifle and be the last team standing.

Starting weapon - combat pistol.

Time limit - 30 min.

Game mode - Last team standing.

Map size - Large.

Description

A stretched out fight in the woods near the town of Paleto Bay, take cover or get to a vantage point with a rifle and be the last team standing.

Notes - There are 2 faggios, just out of bounds but they can still be driven back in bounds well within 10 seconds.

They are located in the bush behind you if your team spawns in the forest, and on the highway to the left, facing away from the team spawn if you spawn on the high way.

^^not a good start

try this one out, debating on changing the name as it really doesnt have anything to do with the walking dead other than the actors are supposed to be zombies (which im pretty happy with how that turned out) if at first you cant find the capture objects dont give up, they are all possible

Ok I've been tinkering with a race I've created about 2 months ago care to take a look and see if it's approval worthy?

Beeker's Course

A track created by Beeker himself that goes through and around Paleto bay.

The Paleto Forest is showing in my bookmarks now, review should be up sometime tonight or tomorrow.

EDIT: Review up:

The Paleto Bay Forest

1_0.jpg

Props: Y'know, for an LTS called the paleto bay forest, you sure do fight in the highway a lot. Anyway, the prop usage seems to have been mostly used on wreckage vehicles, which I wouldn't mind as much if they weren't as spaced out as they are, so you really need to space them together, could see this being a drag with 16 players.

Weapon Placement: This is a part I thought you really messed up on. Some of the weapons are too OP (MG) and others are strange on why put them there in the first place like the combat pistol (doesn't stand a chance against an MG). I think you should stick to 3 or 4 reasonable weapon variants like the SMG, combat pistol, sniper rifle, or the AK.

Team Start Points: This are pretty standard, I like how you can see the faggios when starting the match if you look closely, and they're actually a legit source of transportation as opposed to running.

Overall: I give The Paleto Bay Forest a 6 out of 10, average. I think you should focus on the highway, ditch the sawmill, remove some misc. props like the sandbags by the place you can get up to Mt. Chiliad with, possibly rename it. I think you have a solid map on your hands, yet your trying to make it too big, and what it really needs is to be more dense. But keep the faggios, they're nice pieces of hidden transportation.

TWD and Beeker's course will be up today.

EDIT: Reviews up:

The Walking Dead

1_0.jpg

Props: Although props are few in this match, I do respect the choices of barriers, as Cabins don't seem to break the theme at all.

Actors: I have to say, you did a fantastic job on actors, I found myself getting chased by all of them and having to outrun them while another player was chasing me, funkin' intense, bro! Although they do tend to talk almost breaking the theme, but one could also say they're remarks give a light humor to it, it's a mixed bag.

Weapon Placement: Weapon placement in this match was the most convenient I've ever seen in a non-deathmatch, the shotgun by the pools always came handy, always.

Overall: I've never seen a TWD creation that actually fits the atmosphere/tone of the show, the weapon placement is exemplary, the slow pace can be ignored by the near-perfect location you picked, and the actors' comments are a nice laugh. I give this capture an 8 out of 10. So congrats McLoving, you're the first guy on here with a high rating.

------------------------------------------------------

Beeker's Course

1_0.jpg

Checkpoint placement: Pretty standard for a race like this, CP 6 could be moved further to the right, and CP 9 could be placed further to the left so it's a guarantee that the player will hit the checkpoints.

Props: Standard prop selection, liked the how the way you placed them that it almost forces you to drift, although the miscellaneous props by the start/finish line can be removed.

Overall: This race is pretty average, but in a good way. I rank it a 6 out of 10 on the list.

thanks for the good review, glad you liked it.. i decided the weapons should be easy to get after testing it in free aim (in test mode with a sht load of ammo bare in mind) and ran out of ammo lol, was my first capture where the testing was intense (usually i just grab the pack and run back lol)

not sure there is a way to make the "zombies" not talk .. or look like zombies lol

Hotel Rooftop #DEATHMATCH

1_0.jpg

Gamemode: Team deathmatch

Players: 2-12

Time: 15 min

Teams: 1-3 (set to 3 if full for an epic battle)

Forced + Pickups (Recomended for a better experience)

Description: You would probably think that in this 5 star hotel, things were peaceful and quiet. Well, you are wrong. Watch out for those lunatics on the rooftop, they partied all n!ght and they are still drunk, so things are about to get crazy up there! Good luck and have fun. Created by carambazmg. Cheesus Crust McKeever you need to dial it down on the amount of videos you have in your posts!

I got some free-time today, so 2 or 3 reviews'll be up and keep in mind everyone, I have a first come first served process of giving reviews.

Rise of the Valkyries

1_0.jpg

Props: The props from what I saw, were non-existent on ground combat, and seems to only be used to funnel the titans to the highway. Clever, I will say that.

Weapon Placement: No weapons placement here (besides the forced weapon, the MG) but you'll be too dead to care.

Actors: The actors, now that izzy mentions it, do shoot rockets at you, to add to the explosion festival. There are also two military actors on each base, which they actually seem to do nothing.

Overall: Izzy, I know what your true identity is. You thought you could hide it from me, but I know that you are Michael Bay. The explosions, the close calls, and most importantly the explosions either prove that Izzy is Michael Bay or that this map is a 7 out of 10! Keep 'em coming!

The Shootout

1_0.jpg

Props: Looks like you put props to a minimal here, I also see you put a wooden box to counter the small boulder players can use as cover, clever, I will say that. Perhaps you should add more boxes for people trying to play this with 16 players?

Weapon Placement: No weapons placed here, seems about right though for the combat pistol being the starting weapon giving you enough ammo for you and your teammates to kill the other team efficiently.

Team Start Points: Nice team start points, but I still think that putting some boxes would help for people trying to play w/ 12 or more players, or alternatively make the LTS 8 players only.

Overall: You got a good map, but I see the flaw in the lack of cover/the amount of player in the job. Either change it to 8 players minimal or put some more cover for bigger lobbies. 6 out of 10, will be a definite 8 out of 10 if you change it with my suggestions! (Erase the period from the title too.)

#BESTRACEEVER

1_0.jpg

Checkpoint placement: CP placement is pretty standard for this race is great, nothing I think you should change.

Props: The placement of props was pretty well done, liked how you used a tanker trailer to force people to go to the left side of the road between CP 26 and 27.

Overall: Really good lap race, take away the misc. classes such as Compacts, Coupes, SUVs, and such. 7 out of 10.

Dirt Road Endurance

1_0.jpg

Checkpoint placement: CP placement here is good, nothing you should change about, possibly lock the race to 1 lap?

Props: I feel like the props don't need to be there, as the dirt road itself offers as a good route anyway.

Overall: This is a pretty good endurance track, takes a sh*tload of time to do, possibly put in the description that the race takes a long time so randoms know what they're getting into? Anywho, 8 out of 10, I'd definitely recommend this track to people who want an endurance race.

Hotel Rooftop #DEATHMATCH

1_0.jpg

Props: Great prop selection, most are used as ladders, others used as cover, good variety too. :^:

Weapon Placement: At first I was skeptical seeing the AP pistol as the starting weapon, but it worked well for a setting like this, makes it more fast-paced too.

Team Start/Spawn Points: Pretty standard spawn points, nothing you should change here.

Overall: Good map, for some reason I thought there was something missing to it, perhaps you should make the highest floor act as the "hill" for a king of the hill type of Deathmatch? I also think you should change the title to just "Hotel Rooftop" and delete the "Press L1 to bookmark" out of the description, makes it look more professional. 7 out of 10.

Its an old race and as you can see i didnt really spend much time on perfecting things back then.

I just wanted some feedback before i start working on it again.

I will see what i can do with the start/finnish line as i dont think you can lock laps and i will probably move some props around to get the optimal guide of where to drive as i have seen some people missing some turns.

Any way thanks for the rating.

Here is a lts i made when the lts creator came and i would like a rating on it.

Hotel Rooftop #DEATHMATCH

perhaps you should make the highest floor act as the "hill" for a king of the hill type of Deathmatch?

Well, I don't know what do you mean by that, but on the top floor there is a grenade spawn, so there is actually incentive to fight to get to the top if that's what you mean by "King of the hill" type of dm.

I also think you should change the title to just "Hotel Rooftop" and delete the "Press L1 to bookmark" out of the description, makes it look more professional. 7 out of 10.

I will consider that change.

Anyway thanks for your awesome feedback, keep up the great job you're doing here. :)

I'll have some more dm's and races for you to checkout.

Airfield Blues

1_0.jpg

Props: You seemed to not utilize props as much as I thought you would, I can see free-aimers like myself loving it though. Possibly put just a little cover in the middle, a simple wooden box would be suffice enough.

Weapon Placement: The weapons chosen for this map were pretty meh, I don't know why in the world you would include a jerry can in the map as someone could easily mow you down while your placing down some gasoline. The SMG should also be replaced with the AK-47, as the SMG is too much of a close ranged weapon for a map of this size. Also, remove or replace the air vehicles with something else, I can easily see players in one vs. one battles shooting someone at the start of the shootout and run towards the plane and drive off into the sunset leaving the other player without anyone to boost his target score.

Team Start/Spawn Points: Noice team start points, good ol' Mexican standoffs are always interesting, also remove the 3 spawns in the middle of the airfield or put cover by those spawns or else I can see people getting spawn-killed repeatedly.

Overall: Needs some time to be adjusted to make the map more balanced, so far it's a 7/10, slightly above average. For some reason the deathmatch has a small charm to it with the land vehicles with the bodhi and the blazer being good decorations. Make these changes and it'll certainly get an 8 out of 10.
