MostWantedMVP 9,300
The Ballad of Gay Tony is my favorite GTA game and the complete GTA IV experience it the best GTA game to date in my opinion.
Journey_95 3,917
IV and TLAD offer the best HD universe singleplayer experiences No doubt. TBOGT is basically a preview of how GTA V was going to be, they started pandering to the SA fanboys and we got stupid "funny" characters, a ridiculous story, lighthearted atmosphere etc. It doesn't fit the dark and gritty world of IV and TLAD at all. ksk575 41
After IV TBoGT offered breath of fresh air, it have fun that was missing in IV. Amir Yusuf is still my favorite character from HD universe. I still wish for Bahama mamas in freeroam, what a awesome club BM is. if IV getting remaster release I hope R* take care of TBoGT fans too. The opposite is true. The story was garbage, the characters obnoxious and the missions over the top for the sake of it. Even GTA V was better
Sleepwalking 568
I am replaying TBoGT, about to beat it again. I love messing around with explosive shotguns and deforming cars with it. in GTA V explosive bullets make car blow instantly, you can't really have fun. I love how vehicles are deformed. jkim_1 170
Im replaying it as well right now and I totally agree lol I love blowing sh*t up in tbogt and tbh it hadnt been years since I played so Im really appreciating how good this game is right now... of course there are obvious glitches and oversights but that is to be expected.
FadeAway 183
I haven't played this game in awhile and it's just really enjoyable. I like Luis and Tony. It's refreshing from having the 3 from V. While only in the first few missions and saved where I left off, I just had to spawn that awesome tank. I love the Liberty City Series (including 4). It's just a different and great vibe after playing 4 which was a dark atmosphere overall. It's more....bright. The colors are too. Some things that V did wasn't much different IMO than this game. Like the helicopter with the trains. I love the weapons in this game especially the explosive shotgun. And that tank. And the police in general. They're so much more lenient than V. I was shooting out of the tank and hearing ''You almost killed me'' and the taxi driver trying to chase me was hilarious. Or hearing ''dickhead.'' I can't forget the many hilarious random chatter or funny screams from lll. I shot a few cars with the tank and still didn't get any stars despite a police car being in front. After driving out of the flashing zone on the map with 2 stars, it went to 0 stars.
albanyave 490
I enjoyed TBoGT. Luis was struggling to grow as a person. He wanted the love and respect from his mother and he did his best to step up as a man. On the other hand, his buddies from around the way could pull him back to the grit of the city where I think he felt the most comfortable. Maybe because of his loyalty to H and Armando or perhaps drug wars was his default setting because that's how he came up in the neighborhood. Tony had problems of his own in his so called legit world and Luis was the right one to handle them. All-in-all the game felt fresh and fun. The city was seen from a different perspective. Liberty and all its dark gritty atmosphere didn't disappear. It was still there but experienced differently. Believe it or not, you can have fun as a fashionable criminal. Since this episode is so much different than IV and TLAD, I lovehow you know what is going on in the city as you play as Luis. Niko's exploits and Johnny's troubles just makes you wonder what they are doing at any given point in Luis' game. Still a fan after all this time.
iiCriminnaaL 49 4,306
While it's not my cup of tea, I do find several things that I can appreciate about it. I still prefer the darker and grittier themes of IV and The Lost and Damned, and I would've been happier had we gotten an extended TLAD story instead of making TBOGT, but I find it refreshing to play something more lighthearted and insane for a while. It makes getting back to IV and TLAD a refreshed experience on its own as well. Not a fan of its too silly characters, but at least we got Luis, Tony, Bulgarin and some remarkable appearances of Niko, Johnny and The Lost MC.
