Norsea
Hey all, I recently upgraded from a Celeron 356 to a C2D Duo E6300 - Everything works great, it's faster, way faster than my older CPU. Although, I've noticed in Task Manager that Windows says I have only one core.. Now, I have done a search on Google and I tried some of the solutions. One was to run msconfig > boot > advanced options > change number of CPU cores.. but it doesn't work.. Device Manager says I have the two cores.. What can I do to solve this? I want to take advantage of my new CPU. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/742668-windows-81-pro-cpu-core-issue/ Share on other sites
uNi
Set it to 1, use "Detect HAL" option and reboot. After that, if it is detecting both cores, remove HAL, select 2 cores and save the settings. Norsea
Detect HAL? Where do I find that? Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/742668-windows-81-pro-cpu-core-issue/?do=findComment&comment=1066330974 Share on other sites
uNi
In previous versions it's right under or above PCI Lock. I'll see if I can find it for 8.1 Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/742668-windows-81-pro-cpu-core-issue/?do=findComment&comment=1066331004 Share on other sites
Norsea
IIRC, I saw "Debug" under "PCI Lock". I just turned it off for a while, but I will return to it shortly.
