There's a big difference between games like GTA which are made mostly for satire and any killing of innocent civilians is done by the player's own accord, and games like this where the purpose is to kill innocent people. I'm not buying into the "game as art" excuse, either. This caters to idiotic teenagers who might already be contemplating going on a shooting spree, so I don't think this is helping the issue. People have the choice to buy it, obviously, but I have my doubts that this is even going to be greenlit. I might sound a bit drastic, but GTA is tame compared to this. And most of the crew who have helped make the game are Neo-Nazis. Fantastic. Right, I understand what you're saying, it's pretty tasteless in comparison, but you're forgetting that the generation before you thought the same about GTA. But you know what it really reminds me of? Duke Nukem or Doom in their day. Doom was blamed as an enabler of the Columbine killings, which was just laughable when you look back at it. As human beings, we should be able to establish the difference between real life and fantasy; it's just part of growing up. But I still agree with you in labeling it tasteless, it's evident that it was only created for shock-value, and trust me, I've seen my fair share of shock-value in films, ie. Salo or the 120 Days of Sodom, The Bunny Game, A Serbian Film. (props to anyone who has seen those lol) In the end, I really have no problem with the game, but I would just question the developer's motives. That's the first thing I thought after seeing that. But a game based purely around an armed man massacring unarmed civilians and cops in heavily populated areas... real nice. You can do that in GTA too, true, but it isn't anywhere near as graphic, and the game isn't centered around killing, just crime in general. Doesn't seem like there's much of a story behind this game, either. Can't wait to see the media's reaction to this. Age incidentally has nothing to do with it, if you've played any games released in the last seven years nothing is going to be all the shocking or striking to you, unless you've literally been living under a rock since your childhood I'd suggest you leave that stuff at the back entrance. You will know when suddenly the game is about genocide rather than just killing randomly. I dont care how dump the game is. To me it sounds like a Dead Island with humans. People who know the difference between a game and reality should have no problems either... If such a game is morally reprehensible is another question... Ducard Posted October 18, 2014 Share Posted October 18, 2014 For some reason this reminded me of the quest "Tranquility Lane" from Fallout 3, the park, the black and white colors etc all reminded me of Tranquility Lane. Not sure why everyone is so fussed about this either. Although the game's story itself looks cliche but I don't see how this is different to Manhunt or anything else at all.
