I feel sorry for the developers. They tried so hard to make their protagonist impossible to identify with and their premise completely free of justification, and even media-savvy gamers don't get it. This is all the sh*t people do in GTA, minus the pretty cars and the protective layer of dick jokes. This is the game you've been playing inside every other game you've bought, and all anyone can say is "this guy's an asshole." RedDagger Posted October 17, 2014 Share Posted October 17, 2014 When he opened the door I was mostly expecting the atmosphere to completely change, opening to a happy world with rainbows and a sun with a smiling face - that's how cliché the speech was, from the point of view of an angsty 12 year old. Though it's plain that this game is, as Secura said, like many other shooters sans proper context that would normally make the gameplay justified. I guess it's inevitable that this game will recieve one, if not the harshest criticial reviews ever and can't wait to laugh so hard when politicians will jump at this and they stop forgetting the real life issues in front of them. You know, I also think this game can educate people by showing the perspective of these mindless criminals/terrorists and how they see the world in front of them. But of course, there's going to be people that will trigger something inside their heads and might do something bad, a.k.a, the disturbed people in hidden sight. I'm not buying into the "game as art" excuse, either. This caters to idiotic teenagers who might already be contemplating going on a shooting spree, so I don't think this is helping the issue. People have the choice to buy it, obviously, but I have my doubts that this is even going to be greenlit. I might sound a bit drastic, but GTA is tame compared to this. And most of the crew who have helped make the game are Neo-Nazis. Fantastic. You slaughtering people in GTA is you deciding to do it, this game forces it on you.
