I didn't like that he betrayed me though, I knew I had to kill him after that. So yes, I was sad about killing him.

 

Oh and besides, he was gonna make a made man out of Claude. That would have totally changed the story.

I never liked him that much to begin with and he did, after all, set you up. It only felt right to get back at him, imo. Although I think Claude should've offed Maria along with Sal. Sal betrayed him but only because of her big mouth. Still, the mysterious gunshot in the end lightened me up a bit.

It was sort of sad to me because I liked working for the Mob and not so much Kenji and Asuka.

But, Salvadore betrayed me, so everyone, who betrays me, get punished for it.

When I first played that mission nearly seven years ago (God, I feel so old...), I did like Salvatore's character, but at the same time, I felt just as betrayed as 'Claude' (as he's now known) must have felt, especially since Salvatore's betrayal pretty much comes out of the blue from our perspective (though Curly Bob's words did get me thinking when I first heard them), so I didn't feel to bad about actually killing him.

 

I still feel the same way.

i also played lcs before III, at some point in lcs sal is funny (i found the line "toni, we gonna need a car!" in mission driving mr. leone being hilarious) but for the fact he doesn't care for people who risk their lives for him i like to kill him.

Hedeserved to die. Claude did a lot of goot jobs for him, even he blowed up the Columbian ship. But Salvatore betrayed him and that's why he deserved to day.

I was kind of sad at first because I loved working for the Mafia and Sal was one of my favorite characters. But now after I beat GTA3 again, I'm not bothered by it. After all that Claude did he tried to kill him. The bastard can rot.

i think if you skip tony cirpiany mission then you do sal and when you kill sal then re do tony cirpiany mission and mafia there will maybe give you respect

After the completion of Last Requests, mission in which Sal becomes enemy, every mission from Luigi, Toni and Joey is automatically and permanently disabled.

I always do them in order. So just curious, if you finish Salvatore first and the others become disabled are you able to complete the game?

I grew up with LCS and my favorite character was Salvatore cause he was cool and had a badaas car and gangs . I always hated this mission and I remember him when I was crossing on Leone Territory. then I decided to play Lcs where the gang was like family to me . i got 100% on it.

Same with me, I was sad to kill Sal, and I love the Leones and I didn't want them to turn on me, this is why I like LCS, because you work for the Leones for the whole game. And LCS is the only one ive got 100% on.

I was glad! i fell for that damn trap the first time and he had to get killed by Silent but Violet Claude! Portland would suck if we didn't! i like killing Triads and Diablos and now....Leone!!!

I did get used to driving in a mafia Sentential and i listened to double cleft trying to be like them.

Sal was the best character in III next to Toni, but I still didn't feel sad about it, maybe if I played LCS first and the mission ended with Sal pleading for his life but meh...

I don't see any reason why making someone a made man will hurt Sal.

phantom2510 I don't think there's something to do with Maria. I don't think Salvatore worried about her fidelity, she was always on the nightclubs so obviously she betrayed him. I think she was really in love with Claude, but he didn't love her, I think that they had a few coitus but only it. Salvatore was really suspicious, like Curly Bob has said. And, unfortunately, he didn't trust Claude.

 

Kratos2000, Salvatore Leone, instead of making Claude a made-man like he promised, he betrayed Claude by trying to kill him. He's a liar!!!

It wasn't sad for me to kill Salvatore simply because I didn't really like him as a character in III. I liked him better in San Andreas.
