I can explain... First I learned how to make custom timecycle modifiers through .ymap / .ytyp files with the help of Codewalker software. The LTD gas station has a single default timecycle modifier but I added two more modifiers and placed them inside the interior. Custom modifiers allow me to increase "light_dir_mult" and other stuff (such as Bloom) inside of the interior but with additional control over everything. I specifically use "light_dir_mult" for moon lighting at night in some of my timecycle files but the custom modifier switches to a different modifier at night time. This prevents things from looking messed up. That's one of the cool things about placing custom modifiers because you can set the start / stop time and intensity. It was really difficult to do everything though. I had to place the modifiers blindly and make sure the radius enables a smooth transition between entering and exiting the interior. I also changed the textures and the shell model itself. Textures are AI upscaled to 2x resolution. I modified the reflection shader in the shell model for the tiled floor through 3DSMax. This allowed me to reflect it properly. I also removed dirt from the floor. I was trying to copy this pre-release GTAV screenshot but I think they are using a mirror floor here (like how they use in the 24/7 Stores) which reflects all objects in the interior from a higher angle. It's odd how this never made it to the final version of the game since there are no floor reflections in vanilla gas station.

 

The other thing I changed was the tonemapping in sunny / clear weathers. I modified tonemapping and adaptation so that walking into a shadowed area makes the scene brighter.

 

Did a few parking garages too. I think I spent up to two weeks on and off trying to fix the lighting and modifier placements in these. Added some CA and other PostFX effects too. Everything is still far from perfect but I am satisfied for now. Pictures are using SSIL / AO from ENB which help a good bit.

I'd love to rework a bunch of interiors but it takes too much time and effort. I'd rather focus on the other cool stuff I am working on.

 

Btw since I'm here... I'd like to speak on an issue I had a few weeks back with one of the members from this community. I am only writing this in order to prevent other people from getting screwed over.

 

Back in early September, I sent DayL a work-in-progress copy of my upcoming GTAV lighting mod. I only wanted to help him since he takes inspiration from NVR and iCEnhancer. I told him not to share it with anyone. He ends up sharing the files with someone else. That person ended up sharing it with others. Not cool at all. The entire situation was very frustrating to deal with. No one wants their work to get leaked months before it's complete. Be careful who you trust and share files with on here. 😕

Looks incredible dude! That's super fascinating stuff. I appreciate that you actually told us how you went about doing it too. I'm really looking forward to any of your upcoming releases.

Timecycle Modifiers can make you go insane Razed. But beauty work right there. Those modifications to interiors are absolutely the most important part of the game (IMHO). This community needs to get teams together to work on TC Modifiers for certain groups of ENBs so that the game is fully playable again (IMHO).

A little gameplay from the sets I've recovered [thought I lost em in a HDD crash]. Still work to do but here's the performance test and general how-it-looks (heavily custom ice2.0 based set). My preference is these roads by DKT but they have too much specular but idc lol
