I really like this topic thanks everybody; it's great to see people keeping GTA 4 alive ten years later, tinkering with ENB and other graphical tools, and comparing with GTA 5. I hope some of you will release ENB settings for others to enjoy.

I recently returned to GTA 4 (more here if anybody is interested). I run a legitimate copy patched to v1.0.4.0 with Simple/natural ENB + SweetFX + SKI's Realistic Night Cycle. I enjoyed GTA 5 but I focus presently on GTA 4 as I have recently enjoyed restarting what little storyline I completed then quickly put down about 7 years ago. I also post to a small photo blog (or 'travelogue') here.

Anyway, here is my first foray into this screenshot/media thread.

D1_4.jpg

They're only JPEGs and arguably nothing special; I've not modded ENB, and there's no post-capture editing apart from cropping my screenshots. I use printscreen some times without the HUD and radar, and I capture from cutscenes too, but I tend to use the built-in Video Editor to capture the action. Speaking of which, I enjoy GTA 4 as a game and as a kind of piece of art, or something like a walking simulator - there is a lot of detail even without guns blazing, helicopters falling out of the sky and angry Libertonians honking and shouting at each other, haha!

Anyway, here is the rest of my first small contribution with full details below. I am not an ENB tinkerer by any means, so what I have captured is both achievable and, in my opinion, aesthetically pleasing without excessive bloom or unnatural saturation. It's not photorealistic either (what is?), but it's a vast improvement over my first playthrough all those years ago.

Feedback, questions, or comments welcome. Thanks everybody for the inspiration and eye-gasms you've all given me!

Simple/natural ENB + SweetFX (saturation -0.25) + SKI's Realistic Night Cycle + Silence! | You can follow my journey here.

Apologies about the road normals. They are old plus combined with the ENB detail texture makes the roads look icy.

Here are what the new roads should look like. They might change a little bit here and there while tweaking.

(I know...its 720p. It's an older capture for testing....not wowing a crowd.) :)

@Ku3o looks really good. SSLR would be a nice addition to your graphics. Wish anybody except Hayssam could code it...

@BisonSales you already know, what I gonna say about this pic. :D

LOL...I know, brother. Just messin. Figured I throw that pic up so as to let people know I didn't leave IV or die or anything. It's an older pic without the vertex color lamp glass lighting corrected. I still enjoy that evening walk in LC at night though.

Oh nice reminds me of those thin layers of black ice that form when it rains and then freezes

That looks absolutely amazing. You're going to make me play GTAIV again.

Great work! Please tell me this's for the 1.0.7.0/1.0.8.0?

I've lost interest of gta4 modding after i tried to increase the lod distance of the vegetation and some other objects, ended up with nothing and crash.

Im running ice3.0 with 1040 but it should work fine for 1070 and 1080. Its just the lamppost.img files redone in 3ds max plus these settings in enbseries.ini:

[LIGHTSPRITE]
UseExternalTexture=true
Intensity=0.3
IntensityInReflection=15
UseRays=true
RaysNumber=6
RaysIntensity=2.0
RaysRateOfChange=0.05
RaysLength=6.0

I am also working on vegetation distance. I believe I can extend it as far as we want by changing the flag in the user defined section of the vegetation with 3ds max. Iv'e tested two overpass models with a view distance of 6000 and it works!
