What is it?

 

Road textures for SF and LV and a Grove Street retexture. I was simply too lazy to retexture LS' roads completely, but may do it in the future, hence WIP. They are mipmapped, so everything should be fine. I am aware of various bugs especially on pedestrian crosswalks, due to bad UV mapping which I don't know how to change. Many people already have them because they are released for a very long time but I decided to create a topic for it so it's more "official".

btw, will you do other textures beside road that were in the same file? Or you gonna use some other textures from other authors?

Neither. Well, Grove Retex has all textures replaced but meh, I dunno if I should do that with the road textures, that would be too much work at once, my free time isn't very big lately.

Can i suggest one more thing for the future release? (well, if you have time to do so :p ). I really love using this mod as one of my 'base mod'. But, something is bugging me since months after using it. You see, desert roads have 'brown' mud (is this how you describe it?) while it should be combination of little dirt and large amount of sand. (Look RoSA as a good example, not comparing) I think it's better to have sand+dirt combination since it fits the game and desert atmosphere.

Nobody can give you an opinion on something you may or may not like, so try it out yourself.

 

I think the question is only regarding to updates

It would be amazing if you do LS Road Textures too.

i installed them in gta3.img it works but texture dissapear from time to time why?

my pc settings: i5 3570k,gtx 460,6GB ram i have the v1.0 of gta sa. thanks in advance.

Ugh not sure which compatability issues this is causing but all my roads dissappeared in San Fierro, just has the LOD left now, I have SRT installed, installed the roads over it before and it worked back then, not sure why it isn't working now.

 

If textures don't show up (i tried other textures as well), the .dff's have been modified?

Backtracking as we speak but if you got any idea what causes this anything could help.

 

EDIT: Whatever I'll never understand this, but with the same .img same CLEO scripts everything the same just the game saved on a different slot and it all seems to work again.

 

There are my favorite San Fierro textures so I'm happy with that.

Fireman I did no changes to the DFF's in any way. If a DFF cannot find its textures, it appears white. This on your screenshot looks more like the game cannot find the HQ model and loads the LOD instead, nothing a texture can cause. There are some issues with SRT though and saves. I remember using SRT and playing the mission where you have to bring this guy to the RC shop, I could not approach the building or the marker because the ground had no collision and I fell through the ground. Strangely, when not in this mission, ground was fine.

i thought you retextured the whole los santos roads marty, btw this is the best road textures for GTA SA :):inlove:

Hi Marty - great work - I have a problem with the mipmapped textures loading. I installed the Stream Memory fix, GTA exe is 1.0, rebuilt the GTA.img file a number of times with a clean backup file, but it seems to be loading the default textures somehow.

 

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Check your hidden (or temporary) folders in C:\Users\<Current User>\Applications - there might be a copy of gta3.img which is the one, that is loading to the game instead of that inside GTASA\models folder.
