Heists, what's the point now?

Hists will be next gen only.

Got to save something for the next gen version.

Won't happen...that's the one thing they could do that would open themselves to lawsuits that would actually stick. THEN we've got false advertising claims that would be valid.

Maybe there will be MORE heists on PS4/XB1, but PS3/XB360 will definitely get some too.

Sue them over what exactly? No one in their right mind would sue them because a mission wasn't available nor would any court put up with that sort of bull crap.

Then you've got to consider the small print, bet there's something in there to cover Rockstar's ass against even the most ridiculous of lawsuits.

I've been bored of heists since January and they haven't even came out. And I couldn't care less about them.

No, this is the thing...they DID advertise heists for PS3 & XB360. All they have to do is deliver some form of heists on these consoles and they did what they "had" to do. If they do not deliver some form of heists for these platforms, then it becomes a case of false advertising, as there were "no plans" for PS4/XB1 when they claimed you'd get heists.

It would be considered reasonable by US courts that consumers purchased GTAV in part for this advertised content. If the courts didn't, it would allow companies to say whatever they wanted about these games (and really, across the board in business) and never have to deliver anything. If you advertise it, you eventually have to make good on it.

No small print could cover Rockstar if they didn't deliver some form of heists for the original systems.

EDIT: not saying that this would entitle anyone to refunds, but a class action suit for percentages of the game receipts would not be out of the question at all.

"Its not about the destination. It's about the journey that gets you there"

I don't care about the money. I want to do heists with my friends, because they are fun.

I have millions in Payday 2, but I still do the Heists, because they're fun. Do I need the money? No. I have a fool proof class setup and almost all the skills I need.

The money is there, it's not my motive, I have mostly everything I want. I just want to be able to rob a bank.

It would not be considered reasonable at all anywhere (except maybe in the US). The adverts for the game also called it an ever elvoling environment or something like that. Hists could easily be as something that evolves over time. Plus you'd have to prove you bought the game for hists (rather than another games that include hists when GTA) and nothing else and then there's the whole online is free/no it isn't/yes it is/no it isn't thing.

As for some form of hist, how about the missions where you go an steal something or sticking up a store, which is basically a hist, albeit on a smaller scale. Nah, Rockstar are covered on this one.

Um Red Bull just settled on a lawsuit because the energy drink doesn't actually give you wings...

Heist lawsuits would be perfectly capable of happening at this point.

Sorry, but you're wrong. Rockstar themselves have stated they haven't released heists, so that argument (current missions) is invalid. You wouldn't have to prove you bought the game for heists at all (unless you're dumb enough to try to seek a full refund, and that would not work). Rockstar has to release SOMETHING that they call HEISTS at some point or they could be liable. If said heists don't arrive on previous consoles that they were advertised for, they'd be liable. If they couldn't be, then they could announce plans for a fire-falling-from-the-sky-apocalype mode then never deliver on it...does that sound possible?

There's a lawsuit that was recently settled involving Red Bull energy drinks where the plaintiffs accused Red Bull of false advertising because Red Bull did not "give them wings". Now, anyone can log onto a website and put in for a $10 check from Red Bull if they feel this affected them, no proof of purchase needed...just log on, give some info, and wait for your check. The same thought could be applied here.

I'm VERY reasonable when it comes to this whole heists thing, but the one thing I have maintained is that the only thing Rockstar could do to truly f*ck themselves is not releasing the heists for the original systems. I don't see how this could be denied.

EDIT: I just saw HollywoodVice posted the same example I did as I was typing...glad I'm not the only one who saw that.

I have often thought about this. Yes, a new gameplay experience will be great, but what are we to do with that money? We are required to own a high end apartment in order to even start a heist. Most people own 2 high end apartments and 20 cars by most.

Where do we go from here? How do we expand our criminal empire? I imagine that eventually we will get stuff that cost milions to aquire.

-Businesses

-Mansions

-Casino

Idk what they will do. Maybe nothing. It won't stop me from playing, but I know I wish I had something more to spend my millions on.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA oh god my sides are in orbit

edit - just looked it up, i can get 10 bucks because i drank redbull and it didnt give me wings  the only problem is the pool of settlement money is finite, so the more people that apply for the money, the less they will get

by this logic, everyone who bought gta 5 will get 10 bucks back from rockstar for not giving us heists woot

These comments......pointless

What's the point in heists now really. For most of us we've bought everything and still got a decent load of cash left over.

R* will have to bring out a ton of stuff to buy when they eventually do release the heists, not just a couple of cars and a new gun

By your logic, what's the point of playing the game now?

Pretty much yeah

We have already seen Heist missions on youtube during the DNS days back in jan-feb. If anyone missed it you can watch on youtube. Its nothing special, just another half boring mission. Good to play with friends i guess. But for my money needs i rather stick with money glitches.

Wasn't so much as settled, but just agreed to pay out (what will be for them a small amount) to get rid of some incredibly stupid people. Again a US thing.

Actually, I'm not wrong. Taking Rockstar to court over teh lack of hists would actually require you to prove your loss so you would have to prove you bought the game based on the possibility of playing hists or else where is your loss? There isn't one.

Ultimately, no one is going to take them to court, hists will be released and everyone will moan like f**k about them.

The amount of people spelling it "Hists" in this thread is too damn high!

Seriously, you are seeing people spelling it right throughout the thread, even quoting posts with it spelt correctly and still spelling it "hists". How does that even look right to you? Mind boggling.

I couldn't give two pickled sh*ts about what heists pay, or more useless garbage to buy. I still want them for new gameplay, plain and simple. The only thing I don't have that I'd like to buy is a Buzzard, and I'm close enough to it that heists aren't necessary to get it.

Heists are probably gonna be neeeded to pay for the $30 Million Mansion once they are made available...want a basketball court or tennis court on the property, $5-$10 Million.

Thats my guess, because even if i made $5 Million from a Heist , say tomorrow, theres nothing id rush out to buy because i have 12 Million in my account and like you stated alread, i could buy anything the game offers right now.

I want them just to have something decent/fun to play.

There's only a handful of missions that are actually fun in GTA Online, and the ones they've added since launch have been the definition of garbo.

Well, maybe Time to Get Away is good. That's the only one I haven't played.

I wanna have fun with friends while playing GTAO. That's the point of hists for most players IMO. I could care less about the payouts. I just want to rob something, shoot my way out, kill some cops and peds, go on a big chase with the police right in pursuit, and escape to freedom.
