Weekly Photography Challenge

Disclaimer: This contest is just for fun and/or bragging rights at the moment, since I don't know how to just give people money without having to do a bunch of activities. If this gets popular enough, I might try to figure out how to make a website to post the winning photos and who took them.

 

When it is

-Every week, the challenge will be posted (in this thread) some time late on Saturday night into Sunday morning and will be open until the winner is announced the next Saturday night. There's no bonus for posting your photos early, so take your time.

 

What it is

-I'm going to try and come up with unique concepts for photographs that you guys can try to take with your online snapmatic. The photo I like the most (yeah, it's pretty subjective), wins.

 

What you probably shouldn't do if you want to win (A.K.A., the rules)

-No dead bodies in your photos because I'm creeped out by the number of people who post threads asking for photos of them.

-No photos of explosions either, unless specifically requested as part of the challenge.

-There will be some challenges that involve selfies, but unless I list the challenge as a selfie challenge, it's probably best to take regular photos.

-I'm not a huge fan of the filters, but if you can make it look good, feel free to use them.

-Challenges might have their own rules for what you shouldn't do, so make sure to read the posts carefully.

-I might let other users issue the challenge and choose the winners sometimes.

-Feel free to like or critique other people's photos that are posted, but the winner won't be determined by whoever gets the most likes or comments. Try to provide constructive criticism, don't just tell people they suck at taking photos or name-call.

 

10/11/14 Weekly Challenge

We'll start off with something really easy for the first challenge, to gauge interest: Take a photo of a cool piece of architecture.

 

-This can include things like buildings, monuments, houses, parking decks, bridges, piers/docks, or any other structure you personally consider architecture. This is fairly open-ended and I'm not going to nitpick.

-If there are vehicles in the photo it's fine, as long as it's not one of your personal vehicles.

-Also try to avoid having other players in your photos if possible, but pedestrians are fine.
