Encountered someone using god mode yesterday. He was following my friend and I around. The minute I realized he was using god mode, I ran after him with a bat and started beating him senselessly. He tried to salute me and make friends, but I continued to beat him. I eventually brought out the gas can and attempted to light him on fire, but I only lit myself up instead.

 

He was pretty harmless, and I guess trying to be friendly with me, but I don't care. I made sure to let him know that I was very upset with his behavior! This bad bish has no tolerance for modders, good or bad!

What do people mean by infections and modding?

 

The only time I saw anything suspicious was when I first started playing and met the person listed as my archnemesis. They were rolling around and sniping me from really far away in between rolls.

 

It kind of seemed like they had some sniper auto aim thing, but then again maybe they were just that good.

 

Also I met a person who was under the map at a parking garage, but that's just a glitch, not a hack.

I play in online sessions everyday. Here's my experience: I rarely run into modders, and when I do, I just find a new session. Nothing they have ever done to me is permanent, meaning all my guns, cars, and money are safe. So I would say it is totally fine to play in public lobbies, but it's your call.

i play freeroam all the time and it being a couple weeks since i last encountered a modder.

 

i had my guns taken many times but they always return once switch session.

 

16 millions disappeared from my account like 2 months ago but apart from that its the same ol same ol gtao!

I honestly only play in invite-only sessions lol. If any cool people ever wanna hang out and free roam tho or do mission im all about it. I h8 free roam, I always encounter little 14 year olds or wannabe gangsters.

I hate public sessions, I hardly ever play them. Either I play Invite only with friends or I just play alone. Sorry, but I hate carrying people in missions and I hate PVP in this game.

True that. It used to be World of Tanks, not to mention the God Moders and the hackers dropping millions of dollars on people. But you still have your fair share of assholes, griefers, and kids just out to ruin everyone's day. As I mostly play Invite Only, I enter a freemode just to chill atop buildings and get some practice in with the Heavy Sniper.

Ive played since october 2013 and still have my weapons and cash. There are some god moders and stuff but theyre not dangerous. Just switch session.

 

If dangerous is to be killed or griefed by a player once in a while then this game is definitely dangerous. I concider the game safe though.

Is it finally safe to go into an Online Session with strangers?

My friends dont play GTA V / Online anymore, and i do not like to play alone.

 

I play on the Xbox 360 btw.

Most of your problems that you said here refereed to the early days of GTAO, where there were ton of glitches, losing data etc.

 

GTAO is much more stable now BUT you occasionally get random disconnects. Use this link https://support.rockstargames.com/hc/en-us/articles/200525767-GTA-Online-Connection-Sync-Problems-Losing-connection-to-online-games-empty-lobbies. It will help you stop the disconnecting again.

 

One more thing watch out for tankers and lazer pilots! They can be a real pain!

AND incase you meet an asshole with really unfair advantages, just press 'Find new session' and your problem is solved.
