Tikhung
I always set my own rules when I replay GTA's. For instance, whenever I replay GTA SA, I always do the firetruck and paramedic missions to get the moneys and special features such as not getting burnt on fire, the long-ass health bar, etc. Doesn't matter if it's a 100% playthrough or not. I'd like to hear yours. The Other Dude

Osho
For III, VC, SA - No rules. The only exception would be - missions improving physical stats. I try to complete them before starting the story, otherwise, its simply a matter of whatever ( available ) comes to mind, play it, and move on to the next one, and then move on with the story. 3D games offer a lot of things, and freedom play the game differently. woggleman
I am replaying IV and I dress to suit the person I am doing the missions for. For the mafia I wear something from Perseaus but when I do missions with LIl Jacob or Packie I dress more casual. I am also faithful to Kate until after the revenge ending. The Other Dude
When I first play a new GTA game, I try to go through the story first. When replaying, I try to do as much side missions as the game permits me in order to gain money (for weapons, clothes, property etc.) and better stats (GTA: Sanandreas and V). As a general habit, when I replay past games, I get my character properly dressed for whatever particular mission and make sure that it's an appropriate time to start it (gives a more immersive feeling), for example I tried to do the gang related missions in Sanandreas mainly during the night. Nah nah nah Gta 6
First Playthrough: Do the missions the way I want to, use cheats, glitches etc. Second Playthrough: Do everything legit and chose different options (for example the heists in GTA V), and try to get a different ending than the first. Sometimes I make new files and only reach a certain point, for example having the gang territory feature in SA or only have Trevor playable in GTA V

Lethal Vaccine
Don't die, don't get busted, don't cheat, collect every single special vehicle, complete the game 100% or just don't start if you won't, and: Drive Perennials! Pretty much this. The ONLY way, at least to me, is to play GTA to 100%, Perfect Stats involving Deaths, Busted, Cheats, and Mission Failures, and also to obtain a Proof, Unique, and EC Vehicle Collection. I don't go for EVERY vehicle in the game, only the Proof vehicles with the best properties. As for the HD Era with no Proof vehicles, I then go for all Unique and EC vehicles. Luckily, though, in GTA IV you can convert vehicles into AP form via an exploit with Kiki, Alex, and Carmen. Most of the 3D Era Games, I like to start out by doing a "Starter Save" with all Hidden Packages, R3 Missions, and Side Missions complete before even doing the first or second story mission in the game... I mean, just look at my profile and you'll see what I do and like... Edited October 13, 2014 by Militia
HOW'S ANNIE?
I'll be honest, I once spent two months trying to play through an almost perfect version of the IV trinity. And when I say that I just don't mean play them all in order, I mean play them all in order with the crossover events going right down to the exact same time they happened in the others, with the same space of time ebwteen each. It was very sad, and I realised it was all for nothing when I realised the annoying, unavoidable continuity errors between each (e.g. Johnny not wearing the same outfit, having to hear about Liz going to jail despite the fact Johnny is still working for her). FultonGameZ
3D Era games I played through at least several times each, I remember for SA the first time I enjoyed the story, second time I did all the side missions early on (paramedic, firefighter), and third time I went all out and used cheats. Fourth and fifth were a mix of 1st, 2nd and 3rd. This changed with IV. What I'm doing with GTA V (on PS4): 1st time: Enjoy the story, go on rampages as normal. 2nd time: Go for 100% Completion and the Platinum Trophy. (currently on) 3rd time: Go slow and roleplay, dress appropriately for missions, start at certain times, follow traffic laws, etc. Don't know if I'll take my 3rd to 100% completion. 4th time: Might try to do a speedrun, not sure. UshaB
Every single gta play through I've ever done (III, VC, VCS, LCS, SA, IV and V) I've tried never to kill a civilian, and if I did I would always restart the mission, no matter how far or close I've gotten to completing the mission. Killing the innocents, not an option.

Mister Pink
There's plenty of proof that GTA gamers will dress as they imagine their character would. I hope Rockstar realises this and doesn't force us to wear clothes limited to the character. Why? After the story is complete I love to have different dressing styles for various role-playing in SP. I'm sure Rockstar don't want to give us that freedom in SP any more as I'm sure they want us all to play Online. Single player experiences getting shafted all over the place. Back closely on topic, playing SA again, I do all missions as I think the story should go... The way it makes more sense. I'll do the missions from one provider at a time to avoid story confusion (not that I'd get confused but I think people thought SA's story was all over the place because they didn't approach the story with a mindful attitude for the story to have a nice articulate timeline.) When Tagging Up Turf came, I did all the tags so I could get the free weapons at my house. I think this is a realistic collectible because I see the collectible is directly related to the lifestyle (being a gangbanger) and the reward is like my gang paying me in hardware for me going all-city with my tags. If I've played the game a few times I'd try get all perks when appropriate. I'd also always way clothes to suit locality I'm staying in at the time like wearing Woodlqnd Camo in Badlands and I'd listen to KRose when I first arrive to Badlands. I'd listen to mostly Hip Hop when first in Los Santos... SF-UR when I arrive to SF and KDST in the desert... But as I progress and move around I'll listen to any station just when in arrive for the first while I'd try get the perfect soundtrack to compliment where I am. Basically I never do much to that makes the game more unrealistic than it actually is. I wouldn't go around wearing a stupid cowboy hat or a pink Mohawk. Maybe after the story is done... It's great to have the option and I hate when it's restricted or forced on us. I also never go around online wearing no pants. It takes me out of the game. If I'm playing, I would be be playing with people that look like the type you imagine you'd see in that situation if that makes sense.
