Bad sport fix

Im posting this to see if anyone besides me believes badsport is still broken and to share my thoughts.

I love going on long killing sprees in freemode,i wouldnt say im a griefer,i just enjoy the open world combat of gta online.(this cannot be found anywhere else imo) yet for some reason r* has labeled players like me as outcasts or "badsports". There are many solutions to this other than just badsport, why arent there friendly lobbys in gtao? Why is badsport a punishment rather than a gamemode/playstyle? Why cant other people join my lobby if they choose? why are there guns,tanks,attack helos etc if you cant use them? Where is the content for players who want to rampage? My problem with this system is that it discourages the type of gameplay that made gta so great in previous titles.(open world freedom) do you think that we could use friendly lobbys? Or a forgive/condemn system? ie halo 2.

Why is badsport a punishment rather than a gamemode/playstyle?

 

If you think killing people and blowing up their stuff is fine, then why would you consider it a "punishment" to be put in rooms full of people who do too?

I like to go on killing sprees too. I even use stickies to blow up a sh*t ton of cars with people in them but I have never been to bad sport or even been considered a dodgy player. Maybe it's because I don't suck at the game and always fight on foot without resorting to using a tank/jet/buzzard. My crew plays the same way as me and only two of them have been in bad sport. One wanted to see what a BS lobby looked like so he destroyed every personal car he saw for three or fours days and the other is my buddies girlfriend who isn't very good and uses a tank pretty often and destroys a lot of cars that way.

 

I don't have a problem with bad sport because now as long as you're not a douchebag who just blows up every car they see or suck at the game and have to use a jet/tank/buzzard to get your kills chances are you won't be put into a BS lobby.

Bad Sport can be fixed so easily. We don't need different sessions or different servers for Bad Sport. All that needs to be done, is to give Bad Sport players a continuous 5 star wanted level, until their Bad Sport sentence is over. They would quickly learn what it's like to not be able to free-roam the sandbox in peace.

BS is non existent. ive blown up 100s of pv during pvp fr battles...nothing. they should have a disclaimer in fr, "cant handle the heat gtfo the kitchen".

they just need to revert bad sport to the state it was during patch 1.16, that thing was pure heaven during that period of time.

 

the most freedom i had while battling since december when bad sport simply was non-existant.

I just got "bad sport" for the first time early this morning. First impression: The bad sport lobby was BY FAR the toughest, most talented group of players I have ever faced. Not just overwhelmingly super high ranking red blips, but super-savvy players constantly using "off the radar" and sticky bombing drivebys...stuff that is my trademark that I rarely saw others duplicate until my demotion to "bad sport." It is really forcing me to step up my game. I am not used to being pwned regularly as I was in this bad sport lobby. I also noted my ability to report other players was taken away.

 

I got bad sport for choosing sticky bombs and grenade launchers as my method of murder instead of bullets. That's it. I completely disagree with the concept of bad sport for HOW you kill people. Bad sport should be strictly for modders and glitchers, and people who explode unattended personal vehicles.

 

And don't even get me started on the return to having to pay insurance for each and every vehicle you destroy, even if someone is in it.

 

I never quit missions or jobs. I received $2,000 for good behavior literally minutes before being assigned as a "bad sport," with only one intervening vehicle explosion.

 

When my time on bad sport runs out Monday morning (2 real days), I am not sure if I will change my strategy or just cut back the vehicle sticky bombings and try focusing more on sticky bombing people who aren't near a vehicle or what. I may just resign myself to being a perpetual bad sport. Hopefully they change things back to how they were the previous update, when you got in trouble only for bombing unattended personal vehicles.

Even worse, it is perfectly fine to go on disintegrating other players into little tiny pieces, and then spawn trapping them over and over again, but blow up the wrong car and it's off to the Dunce Cap lobby for you. It's so f*cking arbitrary.

Ordinarily mate i'd probably tell you that if you did end up in bad sport then you get what you deserve.

 

However.....

 

now that i've returned to the world of GTA Online from a few months absense i actually agree. I would never had dreamed of attacking other players for no reason before and tbh things were getting so stale for me that i quit playing. Now though i will happily sticky bomb anyone unlucky enough to even hint at slowing down near me or has the audacity to claim a bounty or target that i was heading for lol. I don't consider it griefing as i have no intention to seek anyone out just to kill them ingame but people need to not get so close.

 

My main gameplay is bounty hunting and i get a ton of fun claiming bounties in, what i try to be, the most creative ways possible and usually that ends up in a gang war with others looking at the same target. in which case i will use any means necissary to clear the area and achieve my goal. I've had so many bad sport warnings past few days and i really dont care if i do end up in BS. Its fun as hell!

 

The best part is people that think they are safe backwards driving/shooting in certain supers lol. I'm rich as sh!t in game... I care not having to pay insurance and getting BS points for watching them go sky high

The buzzard requires talent to get bad sport with though. Read my post why are the tanks/jets available if you cant use them? What am i supposed to blow sh*t up "In moderation" lol this is preposterous.

They should have just had three different options for free roam lobbies that can be freely moved between whenever you wish.

 

Passive lobbies where players cannot kill each other or blow up each other's cars. So you can still shoot but the bullets would have no effect on other players or their vehicles. You would still be able to shoots cops and peds as normal. Would allow friendly players to interact without fear of being killed.

 

Normal lobbies, basically what we have now. Pvp is allowed as long as it is not too aggressive. Causing too much chaos would see you moved to a bad sport lobby. Perhaps players would have the option to place a restraining order on other players. So if someone is griefing you can get a restraining order put on them. If they kill you or blow up your vehicle again they get moved to bad sport. That way you can still have fun with those who want it, but people can opt out when they have had enough.

 

Bad sport lobbies, where anything goes. You don't get put here as a punishment and you can leave when you like.
