Title of this thread made me laugh.

On topic: who cares? You either waste money to make money fast, or play the game, earn money slow, then go buy some crap to eat with the real money you saved. I earn money slow as cars (and planes....boats?) to me are just engines with big shiny hats on this game. Nothing special to waste real money on.

Your picture made me laugh. You dress like one of "those" GTA players.

On topic, I care. If heist profits are low, the backlash we would all see will never be forgotten, especially since it's been over a year since Online's release. If they are high, cash cards are pointless.

But I guess the low payouts make sense after all these replies. Rockstar can handle hate. Anyone remember all of those dislikes the Max Payne videos got because they didn't release any recent GTA news?

I'm just gonna lol at people who don't get it...

Here's simple summary:

Heist implies a lot of money. Single player practically shows that too.

Cash card is money and rockstar wants you to get money from there.

Boom! It's a conflict. Paradox right?

How to solve the paradox?

Give Heist a small nonsense payout and a sh*t ton of difficulty to knock players away from gaining money, as usual, and even losing their invested money, to keep Cash Card alive as player's financial supporter.

And wait, there's more. If Rockstar do this, they'll be a joke. In pop culture, again, Heist means a lot of money that make them a rich man afterward.

Can't belive some people are so short sighted.

Cash cards are for players who are too busy to dedicate more time to the game, or too lazy.

I don't know anyone who's bought one. I don't know anyone who has needed to. I don't know anyone who hasn't been able to have adequate money just from casually playing the game.

R* need players to actually play GTA in order for anyone at all to buy cash cards. If normal players didn't play the game, thier busier (or lazier) friends wouldn't have an incentive to buy cash cards to keep up, Cash doesn't really buy you more fun if you have nobody else to play with, and if everyone really had to buy cash cards to have money, nobody would play.

Not to mention that other players buying cash cards ARE THE REASON YOU GET UPDATES FOR FREE!

Heists don't need to have a tiny payout. They just need to prevent them from being farmable, such as having a 24 hour timer like Simeon's car lists, or simply having diminishing returns with consecutive plays. Because the real issue with heist payouts isn't cash cards, it's how can R* keep players interested in other game features, if one feature pays vastly more money than any other. (See Rooftop rumble pre 1.16, except much worse).

I actually f*cking belly laughed when I read that. You take this way too seriously, it's a game mate, chill your bean. If heists have low payouts, the userbase will do what it has since last October. Namely, eat its peas and ask for more.

You're making assumptions based on absolutely nothing. None of us even know the format that heists are going to take, and I'm amazed this thread hasn't been locked already on the grounds of being senseless conjecture.

There are any number of methods R* could employ to make heists viable, including slapping on cooldown timers so that you can't just do heist after heist. Until we see the format, this topic is pointless. I stand by my original statement.

Explain why if yes. The reasons for no are obvious, but it's inevitable that heists will come out (no "heists will never come out jokes"), and I don't see them getting rid of one of their most profitable business methods.

If this topic existed, please, go poop yourself.

Riiight, as if this has never been discussed before...

...obviously the frequency of being able to do them would be limited...and you would lose money if you failed, especially if it's like SP where you have to obtain/buy items in preparation

I thought everyone knew about the Heists trophy leaks.

Basically its gonna cost a huge investment just to set up a heist. Its a gamble, if you fail, you're f*cked. This way cash cards are not affected.

Everyone did hear about it, but most of us are sensible enough not to drink down every little drop that falls out of the information fount that is the "Leak Scene".

Until the format is officially announced by Rockstar, there is nothing to discuss. We have a speculation thread for a reason.

Or you could use common sense and your own brain too.

I'm talking about all of the others that would complain. If there are thousands now, there will be... more thousands. I don't give two sh*ts if heists pay crap or not.

Edit: Also, where are these assumptions, in my post anyway? I said if about two things; if payouts are low, if payouts are high. I didn't say payouts will be either. The whole point of this was to discuss the possibilities. Many people have done a good job in responding, saying Rockstar could raise prices, make heists have a low payout, a cooldown timer, some other options I didn't even think of.

Yes. I heard you`ll have to invest some money in heists to do them. So you`ll probably have to play a while to get the JP and then invest like 20k for equipment and stuff. At the end you`ll get like 150k. Of course if you fail you won`t get the money back. Also there might be a cooldown for heists, so you wouldn`t just grind the best heist with your buddies all day and end up with billions. So shark cards would still sell. Plus I also heard there will be new car customization/equipment for heists so I would presume they won`t cost just 5k to put on.

PoeticWhisper

It's simple. R* aren't going to make heists grind-able. Which is fine, you're most likely gonna have to spend money to make money. Cash Cards aren't the reason they aren't out yet. I'm disappointed that people actually think that.

Depends on what heists payouts will look like. Heists can't be so lucrative that shark cards become a joke, I don't see heists paying out anything higher than 80,000 or else one day of heists could net you millions which would make shark cards irrevelant.

You may even have to invest money, then wait for Lester to launder and distribute the take...

The people complaining would be the same people who are always complaining, it wouldn't make an iota of a difference. I don't understand the idea that there's going to be epic backlash. It's not like 99% of the people saying they'd leave would actually do it. If that were true there'd be about 6 people still online.

People are generally more likely to voice a complaint, rather than praise. That's why it seems like whiners outnumber others, because the jilted majority is the most vocal, more often than not.
