fuel in next gen?

Don't think u need separate lobbies, esp just along the division line of fuel consumption! It'd just add another small dimension to the game. It wouldn't spoil PvP - in fact as others have said it'd open up another avenue for funny trolling..

what about the fuel tank leaking after being shot??
i'd be happy enough if just that made it into Online 1.0

I don't even know what your talking about? Abbreviate on dashboard, cockpit, working gauges and MORE light controls? Where is this information from and what's it about? I know it's about cars but?

check the forums there was a thread about cockpit camera mode or dashboard camera as some call it and it was apparently a leak from rockstar website and beleived to be true, so if its true, it stated the the things I said and added "and more" at the end.... so im jus thinking IF its true then what could be classified as "more". So im saying fuel perhaps??

believed. nothing confirmed yet so i wouldnt count on it. I myself have been keeping my eyes peeled for what will be new to GTA5/GTAO on the new consoles. Solid info has been pretty hard to come by so far.

On topic, fuel in mafia was ok. I think R* could do a better job, was funny going to fill up though. but think of the carnage if you take your PV to fill up, one sticky and the place goes up in smoke

SkylineGTRFreak

But a lot of vehicles use recycled textures from GTA IV don't they?

A lot of the camera views will be of poor quality, unless R* actually go through the trouble of redesigning them all (if they do... GIVE ME A JB700 WITHOUT GUNS FOR Fu*K SAKE!!!)

But they're doing exactly this. None of the cars in V had detailed interiors, the vehicles in V next/current (whatever you call it) gen will all be totally remade.

Fuel?

I hope not.

I don't feel like going to meets where everyone has to gas up every few runs.

Horrible idea, this is GTA not the Sims.

I think it would be pretty cool. Some players would stock up on jerry cans but if someone shoots at your car and hits one, it would cause a giant explosion.

It's a driving game, not a walking game. No one wants to walk 20 miles to a gas station, fill up a can, and then lug it all the way back to their car in Sandy Shores.

Besides, the cars don't have gas caps.

I remember the days one couldnt swim in gta.......given your perspective one could have easily said its a shooting game not a swimming simulator..lol

Exactly, and this is precisely why GTA5 doesn't treat swimming and shooting like a simulation, so it should do the same thing with driving. Keep it fun and simple..."lol"

There would be no point. If I was driving a car (in GTA) and I ran out of fuel, I would exit the vehicle, and steal another one that does have fuel. My problem is solved.

off topic

but if i ruled the world one of the things i would outlaw would be swimming in videogames. the only company/game i'd allow it in would be nintendo/mario games. in any other game it has proven to be a total dreary annoyance to me.

I guess you've never been to any car meet in real life, right?

There's a reason to why most of these meets(In real life) are held in gas stations...

I don`t think so. It could be used to show how much time you have until the engine stops when the fuel tank has been shot. Otherwise I think it would be stuck.

Really?

How interesting is that.

I've never driven my '65 Impala SS to any meet held at a gas station, and god knows my car would love to live near a gas station.

We don't hold meets at gas stations, we gas up on the way to the meets, which are usually held in parking lots big enough to accomodate hundreds of cars, but you never know how many will show up.

"Real life" might be different where you live, but if you and your friends NEED to meet up at a gas station I'm forced to believe either :

- Your civics and sentras all have rusted through gas tanks, so it seems pretty normal that your meets are held at gas stations and garages while you wait for eachother's cars to be repaired.

- You got huge gas stations wherever you live

- You don't meet with a lot of people.

Took my post from another thread -

I think there could be ways to make fuel not too annoying.

- Fuel could take a few hours real time to start depleting when using a vehicle.

- If you run out you can leave your vehicle then call Mors insurance to tow it then retrieve it later.

- Also maybe call up your mechanic and he can drive up with extra gas.

- Casually filling up if low on fuel? Pull up next to a gas tank and press a button. Done.

- Storing vehicle in garage automatically fills up tank after a certain amount of time.

Ultimately, introduce it in a fashion that is gameplay friendly. Imagine you are in a chase and you are low on fuel. It's a whole new strategy to prepare for while escaping. If you run out you'll have to find a new vehicle etc. Obviously it won't be in this remaster but I think it would be cool "one day" as an option.

popular argument for those who wouldn't mind seeing fuel being added, but, don't bother, man.

the closed minds and closed ears already have their decisions made. they think you'll have to fuel up every 10 yards.

@dreadluxx Ah, I know man. But maybe I could change some minds.

Here's a nice little piece of info. Almost forgot he did that interview last year. (The Benz)

At what point do you stop trying to base the GTA games on reality? Would letting people fill up cars with petrol be a step too far?

These are all things that go through our minds. Do people like that level of realism? Do people want to cook a pizza? Do they want to go shopping and buy the ingredients to eat and be healthy? Not that a pizza's healthy, but you know what I mean. That's all there for the future, if people want to do that.

The main thing to remember is that, when we're designing this... we don't design in a little bubble of orbs and dragons. We all live lives. Normal people doing normal things. So that's what we base it on. It's based on (life). If you think of something, chances are it's going to work. Like the car insurance - it's real life. You pay an insurance premium, you phone them up when it gets nicked, you get it back. So everything is based on normality - with a little twist, of course.

How do you decide where to draw the line?

I'm trying to remember what we did with (filling cars up with petrol). I remember thinking, "Should we do that?" maybe six months ago. I think it just sat in a list of 'Will we do that?' We do all the stuff we have to do first, and then see where we're at; if we get time. But that's such a change for the game that it would take a bigger discussion. It would take a lot more people in the company to decide if something like that was going to go in, because it would change the whole dynamic.

Also, single-player's always been in development ahead of the Online side, so a lot of what's in here is dictated by the single-player game. If we were to implement such a drastic change, we'd probably also have to do it in single-player.

i so want a fuel system.

if they made it like Mafia II it would be perfect.

It took about an hour real time driving the car to run out of fuel

storing the car in your garage filled the tank

car could still run (see above video)

cars off street had random amounts of fuel

please no.

yes, it would be funny hearing all the players screaming in their mics about them running out of gas while being chased by cops.

mafia 1 also had that, if your car ran out of gas you had to grab another car.

I'd like to know people's reasoning for not wanting it in the game.

Do they think you'd have to refuel every 10 minutes?

Are they afraid of every gas station being blown up?

Is it a tedious feature, even if it takes hours to empty?

I can see the last two being the issue. But if it's the first one, then no.

Some people assume gas stations are in the city only, sounds like they never venture outside the city.

Jerking For Soup

Simple answer: No

I play GTA For fun and not to have every aspect of life in this game.

If I wanted to have to refill my car with fuel every 10 seconds I would do that in real life.

This is not the Sims 4

There ain't such a thing like fuel in Sims games, as far as i know.

you do know the reason why both the sims and gta are popular is because of thier closeness to reality right?
