fuel in next gen?

I can't see this even remotely being a good idea OP. Some missions are hard enough as it is and don't want to have to deal with my gas tank hitting E in the middle of a getaway. NOW ill be all for rockstar making the guages in every vehicle functional over gas and having griefers blow up every station would ruin it for most.

Would be good should be a option in settings cause not everyone will be a fan but I would add more realism to the game.

If done correctly, I wouldn't mind seeing this make it into the game. If different vehicles had different fuel efficiency, it would make cars such as the Asterope or Dilletante more useful. Perhaps aircraft could also have limited fuel and you'd be forced to land every so often to get more fuel. A quick method to refill an aircraft would be to call Merryweather to do an in-flight refueling or some sh*t. As long as the fuel doesn't constantly run out and isn't easily spilled via bullets or crashing, I could see it working.

Gas in Mafia Mafia II didnt ruin or slow down gameplay. U gotfull tank everytime u drive out of ur garage and u basically had to drive the same damn car around for 3 hours to run out of gas

Anything could be considered a nuisance given certain circumstances. Having to put gas every once in a blue moon wouldn't be a nuisance. I think just the ability to do such a thing is what many people are looking for.

In response to it being a tedious feature, I doubt it would get in the way if you didn't want it to.

 

Make full tank cars last two hours before refilling. That's one car. Think of how many different cars you drive over a two hour period.

 

Fill it up at LS Customs at the touch of the X and A button or Gas Stations, whichever you prefer.

What makes you think you'd need a gas station? You have a mod shop that paints, changes rims, adds parts, upgrades engine. They'd have to have a gas can around there somewhere.

Given the rendering of the gas stations, which are really defined, contoured well and possess a fueling dispenser that is yearning for functionality, it look as if they will follow suit with the Last-Gen vehicle interiors / dashboards and receive a high definition revamp.

I'm talking about games like San Andreas here, it was a great feeling of satisfaction when you were stuck in the middle of nowhere and stumbled on a battered old rust bucket that could take you back to civilization.

 

I had been thinking more along the lines of PV and LSC free lobbies, just for fun, to try and bring back the theft part of GTA. As it stands now 99% of the cars in the game are worthless to me.

Btw did u even read if ur car runs out of gas it doesnt stop completely it sputrees and drives slowly. And any car u call from the mechanic would have a full tank so out of 20 cars u cant call another if a twanker is cping a gas station or limp your car home. Geez get over it only people that played Mafia understand it seems everyone else cant wrap thier heads around it taking like 2 hrs to run out. Be honest when have u ever drove ur car for 2 hours straight without repairing or having it destroyed

It has some merit. And here's why I think it does.

 

It would help (potentially) cash card sales by increasing the spending of the freeroam user. Just another avenue to turn into micro transaction highway.

 

It would provide an element of "realism".

 

It also wouldn't allow people to infinitely troll lower ranks with their super cars. But could also ruin low ranks because they may get caught in another poor man cycle.

 

One major concern was eluded to on page 1 of this thread, and unlimited gas glitch. It would stem from races, you couldn't have fuel and pitting in those which would mean unlimited fuel in a race. Someone would find a way to get that into freeroam.

...This would only make me made of being poor because I've been wanting such feature to be officially implemented in the game ages ago!
Hell, look at how many gas stations are in the game, the jerry can and even the fact that now cars can run out of fuel if you shoot the gas tank, the hybrids, I hope this would come true!

The Hybrids/ Tesla and Lotus will be more viable

...imagine doing an endurance race on Long Haul and everyone stopping on the side of the road or a gas station to fill up, then the Voltic flies by everyone while the driver is giving then the finger

Yes, I played both Mafia games. I finished the second one only because I gave up trying on the first one because of the chase that ensues after you blow up that motel due to the sluggish controls of the PS2.

As stated by some others mafia/mafia 2 (mafia 1 on the pc was one of the best games ever made btw awsome!) Had fueling implemented and its not like most of you think it is...

 

Price? its a few $$$ nothing that your going to fee, and I never had a car run out of fuel on me, if it was implemented you would be able to drive around the map 5 or 6 times before fuel became a concern..

 

Either way its obvious a lot of you dont like this idea, as ive said before we basicly have 2x types of player playing gta.. those that like the pvp combat and those that like to FR and RP...

 

Gta can offer both we just need separate servers/lobbys... I fully understand most of you trigger happer types think this idea is lame, and with how you guys play gta I agree with you.. but their are people who play gta in a different way.. and I dont think either way should be forced onto the other..

 

Give us lobbys where people can just go bonkers and enjoy the mayhem in gta but also lobby that are RP lobbys where people can just do there thing and where people who enjoy this type of thing can have these cool options..

 

I think most players no matter what side of the fence your on carnt argue that this awsome world R☆ have created can be hsed for so much more than it is now...

 

Seperate the lobby's. ?... thats my vote.. and we can all be happy and have cool features n both sides..
