Kafonix
Hello folks, I don't know whether this is the right section or not, but I think I'll post it here.I'm currently working on a flesh'd out concept thread with its own wiki, and so I'm needing authors for the articles, mainly for the vehicles ingame. Also, I'm working on a full storyline with side missions, mission lines and really detailed mission scripts. I want - no, I NEED authors who can write missions in the script style I use (see this article for a template) that have variation and are interesting to play. Interested? You should... be familiar with the English language be familiar with GTA be able to write short paragraphs about whatever type of article you want to write be over 14 years old be able to write authentic dialogues (missions) and/or authentic paragraphs for design and performance (vehicles) NOT grief the wiki (You can improve my articles, but don't delete them or drastically change them) NOT write generic, boring missions or descriptions Send me a PM or write something in this thread if you're interested. If you need something, feel free to contact me.
Dottie
Do you want GTA-like descriptions (humourus &sarcastic ) or serious descriptions? also fix your link (?) Edited October 10, 2014 by Winning001
Kafonix
Do you want GTA-like descriptions (humourus &sarcastic ) or serious descriptions? also fix your link (?) Fixed. Well, I haven't thought about the actual ingame descriptions. Maybe both. The wiki car description serious like The Panto in GTA V is a small, light car with quick acceleration. It is powered by a small inline 4-cylinder engine, contrary to its real life counterpart, the Smart Fortwo, which has either a 3-cylinder or all-electric engine. Its acceleration is average, owing to its incredibly light weight, and its top speed is quite high, but caution should be taken when driving at high speeds because its short wheelbase makes it very unstable and prone to spinning out of control. This could make driving at high speeds quite problematic. The handling is rather poor despite its size, as the vehicle suffers from understeer, and its durability is unremarkable, as it can only take a few head-on crashes before its axle breaks and its engine stalls. The Panto is very maneuverable when airborne able to do multiple spins with ease. Nevertheless, this is a great commuter car if you don't want to risk paying the insurance premium on one of your super cars. This vehicle has the best acceleration in its class. It only takes 5.1 seconds to reach 60 mph and has a top speed of 175 mph (283 km/h). and the ingame website/commercial description just humorous like Is it a truck? Is it a golf cart? Is it a bathtub on wheels? It's whatever you want it to be. The Kalahari is a super lightweight offroad utility vehicle used by the French Army, which possibly explains why they're always so late for everything. QuackinAColdOne
I'm decent at writing short articles and paragraphs with vivid descriptions, but, I'm not too sure I'm witty enough to make humerous descriptions like R*.

I'm glad someone is interested. It isn't about writing a whole perfect article but rather improving the existing articles or creating new ones. If you're not as good in writing sarcastic social commentary, then go ahead and write other things. I appreciate your help.

I believe my specialty would be writing descriptions on vehicles used in the game (not seen on screen, but giving the public an idea of what it is, specifically on the wiki). Mokrie Dela
I'm going to move this into the GTA Gen chat section. While writing is involved, this seems like a project that supersedes a single area, and would likely get more attention and more success in the relevant section; generally concepts belong there. @gagemb9918 I would advice watching some films like the Naked Gun and Airplane and how they parody things/shows/films. Rockstar are masters at this, and there is a pattern of sorts. It takes time to write anything - edits, proof reads, research etc - but any skill can be improved, Coming up with funny piss-takes falls into this category. My advice is to just do it, see the feedback and improve - much like any other field of writing. Kafonix 1 The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing. Cebra
I'm interested. Just a question though. How do you want it to work? Like, can someone contribute by just imagining a mission and putting it on the wiki? Or would they need to ask you first? Is it up to us, or would you give us ideas that we could expand upon in writing? Etc, just stuff like that.

Well, in terms of main missions, I would honestly want to do them for myself to ensure the story is going the way I want it to. But if you want to contribute to the main missions, feel free to ask. Side missions and vehicle/gameplay articles are generally fine to write/improve at your own. I think the ony way this project could work is when everybody contributes using their own imagination and their own writing skills. If I would send you some ideas, it would mean that the project is only done using my imagination and your writing skills. Don't get me wrong, I will of course still contribute to the wiki no matter what happens.
