Idling in solo races?

I heard that Rockstar doesn't really monitor solo sessions, any truth to this? I'm wondering because if you just do criminal records solo and wait for the timer to go up, you'll still get the money. Does Rockstar punish these people?

 

I enjoy doing this at times when I have other things to do and I don't have friends online to do missions with. I'll let a race go idle and then go do something else whether it's to roll up or get a cup of coffee. I'm wondering if Rockstar punishes these people and if so, do you think they left the World Record glitch in the game to see the time stamps that have the longest time completed in a race and ban them?

There is a time limit on races where the payout stops increasing. as long as you don't use bots they won't take action.

 

Going afk is not a banable offence so I don't know why your worried.

What is the time limit, 8 minutes? Which would be the best race to idle solo besides Criminal Records? Do they all pay out the same? Do you still get more money for playing a race for the first time?

There is no limit to length of time in a race but it stops paying after 15-20 minutes. A lot of people make a race with two checkpoints get their friends in and do whatever they want in a city with no traffic. I have seen races go for hours.

as a fulltime freeroamer i have seen people doing things worst than idling without gettin banned, so i really doubt they would ban you for playing the system by idlin in a solo race with the intension of racking more cash.

I get about 6k and 1200rp if I do 3 laps in 6 mins on rank 31.

 

Its very boring as you can do 3 laps in 1.30ms.

LuapYllier brought up a great idea for those who want a freeroam without cops.

Make a gta race with checkpoints on either side of the map. Turn traffic on and wanted off.

Then have fun.. The jets spawn in the base too.

How is that having too much time on my hands? I'm willing to bet you grind out missions which is pretty much the same point. Everyone idles in missions so why not races?

I don't think it matters what rank you are. The payout and rp is same for everyone. It is based off of time. The pay for any race solo maxes out at $8,408 at 8 minutes. I don't know about rp though. I don't pay much attention to that.

I have idled in about 1500 solo races to rank up both of my characters during my sad GTA0 career, so I can say with authority that it is not a problem. Same with missions, now that they are time-based. I have a computer to the left of me, console to the right, so I just rubber-band the controller and turn to the left to multi-slack on the web and email, while Rockstar pays me.

 

The player's RP for winning a race is proportional to his rank, up to about rank 100 or so, where it tops out around 3000 RP, as was mentioned above. I think it takes about 10 to 11 solo race wins to advance one rank. It's a pathetically slow grind, and there is no way around it, for ranking.
