Anyone else feeling nostalgic about GTA Online before updates?

I never really got into tank sniping before but i had a session last night for the first time in months bounty hunting. Three of my targets on various servers were in tanks and all 3 dealt with without breaking a sweat. I dont even mind the "off the radar" notification as they still have no idea where you are. In fact, i think the paranoia of knowing you are coming for them but dont know where you will strike puts them well off there game and all three times had stopped blasting everything that moved and were likely waiting for the strike. made for good times as i rolled up in a non conspicuous vehicle already prepped

 

Unfortunately i also noticed that 99% of players seem to have a Zentorno and a desire to drive backwards. What they didnt seem to realise though is that i have 6+ million in the bank and no care factor when it comes to paying the insurance

I get what you're saying. It's just the way it is unfortunately mate. Griefers pretty much ruin the lobbies, I'm all for a battle and I do love the intensity you can get into, but like I'm sure a lot of us feel, a little bit of chill would be amazing. A little unity in free roam. R*'s to blame in part as they did make it this way. They should have given more options for players to work together against advanced NPC's in free-roam and get rewarded for it.

 

Example;

 

A four Armour truck convoy going down the freeway outside of the city. Four players work together to ambush it and the surrounding police convoy. Each player either steals a truck and loses a wanted level or they blow the security vans/trucks backdoors open then and there and loot the cash. Up to them. That would be awesome. But again, players would probably exploit it and ruin it anyway.

 

And to address your other point, yes a lot of fun is going as everyone's so keen to make money and hence always grinding jobs. It's kind of the "to have fun I've gotta have toys to have fun" mentality, and said players worry they won't have the assets to afford the next update. It sucks but hey, can't really do anything but buy cash cards.

 

That being said, I'm worried about future updates.. since they've made the payment system far more generous I feel either the future updates are going to have a lot more content (Hopefully) or they're going to release the same amount of content as usual and just mark the prices the f*ck up. Hope they don't do the latter.

I miss not being put into a sh*tty custom job.

I miss tank trolls.

I miss modded vehicles in garages.

I miss custom crew emblems.

I miss grinding Violent Duct.

I miss winning the Asea from the tutorial race, and protecting it from other players.

I miss the Tow Truck.

I miss Johnny On The Spot.

I miss the payouts before they got nerfed.

I miss every player icon on the map being just a white dot.

I miss not having 2 Billion Dollars. Sold my game shortly after R* took the money away... the game became really boring then.

I don't. Move forward in life. Not backward.

I agree, there has been some great user created content through the creator but doesnt compare at all to the massive amount of sh*t and exploits etc that also came with it

I hope rockstar verifies a few more good jobs and then shuts the creator down for all the trouble its caused

 

 

 

on topic I miss the feeling when I first unlocked the assault rifle, the feeling of false superiority riding around in a semi-custom fusilade, the first time I got invited inside a players high end apartment

I miss the inital phase of going around and looking to see what jobs we could do. At Launch it seemed like they were never ending lol, Some of these Updates have brought some great cars though and kept it relatively fresh, so I'm not too nostalgic really.

 

Plus we get to experience it all over again on current gen, as that will be the launch of GTAO on there.

I too miss the old days of Online before updates. I remember having to scrape up cash just to buy an apartment. I miss the billionaire days. I miss hunting for rare vehicles to show off as a PV. I miss seeing less tank and jet griefers.
