I'd go back in time and tell myself:

 

"There are going to be people you'll meet that'll bully you, lie about you, hate you, and those people expect you to deal with it. Whether it be someone in your personal life or on the Internet, those people will hate you to the bone and they expect you to deal with it. Have fun."

You are talking about the butterfly effect?! Do you think that your 5 year old self couldn't keep an advice like "bet on sports team A winning against sports team B." for yourself, so that it wouldn't affect the outcome. I mean the advice you get would be the only externality. And if you keep that for yourself, how could the outcome of the game be affected by that. I think this would only happen if your behaviour changes in other significant ways due to the encounter with your future self. I assume that you realise that it is your future self, who was talking to you.

huh, I probably wouldn't listen to myself. If I did, I'd tell him to cut his hair short and keep it that way. I spent a good four years getting made fun of in school. Take more showers too, that way you don't get all those skin conditions you had.

 

I used to fantasize about going back in time to like 2000 when I was just a small kid, and sitting with my parents at the kitchen table, discussing how life is gonna go, and what they can do to make it better. Get 'em to quit smoking and all that. Actually mostly I just like the idea of sitting at a kitchen table at night having a conversation.
