You change Radio Station by swiping your thumb across the Radio Station already being played in a left or right direction. It's the same on iOS, I'd imagine...

Same thing with Weapons. You just go to the Guns in the upper right hand corner and again swipe left or right. It's all touch screens...

Probably a stretch, as nobody is playing on PS2 and rather play it on PC, but is the Barracks OL possible to get for Import/Export early. Don't say yes, as I already know that, and have it done in my iOS Starter Save. But I am wondering about PS2, and only that. When I try to bring it to Portland early, the f*cking thing is teleported into the parking lot of the Hospital in Staunton Island, rather than landing on top of the Porter Tunnel which happens no problem in Mobile and PC. At this rate, I don't think it's even possible. Only the Police Car, Ambulance, Fire Truck, and Enforcer can be done early in regards to PS2/3.

Also, how come the Securicar, Trashmaster, Mr. Whoopee, and Flatbed are ultra rare in PS2/3? I've seen ONE Flatbed then entire day (luckily brought it to the I/E Garage) and I only seem to see the Mr. Whoopee during Fire Truck Side Mission (which I brought to the I/E Garage). I haven't even seen the Securicar and Trashmaster then entire day and am 22% already with EVERYTHING in Portland done and time to move onto SI and then SSV to finish.

I have a 52% Starter Save out of total possible 53% for iOS (missing 1 Hidden Package on the SSV Lift Bridge), but on PS2/3, sh*t doesn't spawn properly. Anyone have any reasons or explanations as to why this is?

EDIT: Even if the Barracks OL can't be taken early, it's not the end of the world, considering the EV Crane in general can't be fully completed early and not until you bring all 7 Emergency Vehicles to the Crane do you get the 5% game completion. FBI Car and Tank can't be delivered under any circumstance, so if I can't get the Barracks OL, it's no big deal, but just strange that it can't be done...

That's normal. I've recently did the entire Portland garage and can tell the game makes a few vehicles completely rare. I couldn't see a single Mr. Whoopee but once I got one during Vigilante and delivered it I saw/heard around 30 Mr. Whoopees within 3 hours.

For Trashmaster, Flatbed and Bus, driving on the long stretch of road where Ammu-Nation is can help. I always see either three vehicles in middle of the road or at the end of it by the fire station. If I have them collected already though I see other vehicles that I need. That's on PC though, but it shouldn't be much different on PS2.

Can't answer the Barracks OL question since I've never got one myself.

Yes, that is another one which is "rare." The Bus. However, I saw it a few times today, and also got it for I/E Garage. It's just strange cuz on iOS when I did the Starter Save, all this stuff spawned no problems. Mr. Whoopee is as common as a Mule or something. It's super common. So is the Securicar. In fact, it was the first Vehicle I brought for I/E on iOS, but every single time I do a PS2/3 playthrough it just never spawns. In a PM a good year+ ago I told you this same thing. The Securicar hardly spawns the ENTIRE playthrough to 100%. Randomly I will get it to spawn, but it's more times than not in SI and SSV and NOT in Portland... :/

The PS2 version was coded a bit differently due to the lack of memory (RAM). It's less taxing on resources if the game spawns the same vehicles over and over again.

It spawns eventually in the Firefighter\Vigilante missions because the game cycles randomly through vehicles (as opposed to spawning the same vehicles or vehicles from the same category the way it happens in traffic).

Edit: I had a similar problem on Xbox and PC. In some playthroughs I was able to obtain most of the vehicles in the first few hours of the game. On others it took a lot longer for some reason. I guess they improved the way vehicles spawn in the mobile versions.

I do see a lot of variety, tbh, but NOT in Portland. In Portland, I seem to see majority of the same old Vehicles over and over, but when it comes to SI and SSV, then there is more variety. I KNOW Securicars and Trashmasters spawn in Portland, but in this playthrough they are gone, lol...Knowing my luck while I am doing stuff in SI today, they will spawn, but the thing is, I can't take them back to Portland, or at least I don't think so. It's very annoying, tbh.

Like, I will probably have the full Starter Save done with (minus the one Hidden Package), but ALSO missing 2 Vehicles for Import/Export and I want to get on with the Game. I am not trying to drive around Portland for hours just trying to find them. All the other Vehicles came easy and just spawned one after another pretty much when I was taking them to the I/E Garage. This happened before, actually. I didn't keep the Starter Save, but I had like 50-51% due to the I/E Garage, unlike 52% on iOS cuz they all were able to spawn no problem. :/

I mean hell, I did Paramedics Level 12, 100 Taxi Fares in a row, 20 Fires, 20 Vigilante Kills, 8 Stunt Jumps, 6 Rampages, 33 Hidden Packages, 2 RC Missions and 1 Off Road Mission and out of ALL that time...Not one single Trashmaster or Securicar. Like wtf...

Figures...After I get the BP/FP Securicar, 2 spawn in Portland, of which I took for I/E. However, it wasn't done in a Starter Save, obviously. Same for the Trashmaster. After I got the BP/FP Trashmaster leaving it in memory, a bunch were spawning, but since I was leaving the Special one in memory, I couldn't grab any for I/E. It's the only Vehicle I need, other than the BF Injection for later.

There is also some differences...Like I noticed when I take the AP/EC Stretch and try to glitch it underground, it doesn't fall down. This seems to be a PC/Mobile exclusive way. I actually had to use the Crusher to make the Stretch a Ghost and take it to SI, followed by SSV after that, where I have it currently and where it will remain. I was worried that this would REMOVE the DP property since it was already DP to begin with, but it kept it and I tested it.

I was able to pass Turismo while obtaining the AP Cheetah, as well. So I finally will have 78 Attempts and 73 Missions Passed, thus 1 LESS Mission Attempt to my previous Save and the DP/EC Cheetah instead of a useless EC Securicar in which can't be converted to DP. Should be done in 2-3 days, I suppose. Went fast :)

I couldn't see a single Mr. Whoopee but once I got one during Vigilante and delivered it I saw/heard around 30 Mr. Whoopees within 3 hours.

Hell yeah, I can relate to that. It happens always to me. I can't find a damn Mr Whoopee but when I find one and deliver it I keep seeing it again and again. The same goes for Securicar.

I would advice you to search for this rear vehicles (like the bus, securicar, flatbed, trashmaster) in Chinatown on the street where the old school hall is located ;)

Something else I've also noticed that the game spawns cars according the car you're driving. For example - if you're driving a van, the game would keep spawning vans even if you're on a part of the city where you should see sport cars. And of course if you drive a sport car, you always see sport cars.

And I would like to add something else - there aren't usually sport cars in Wichita Gardens but after completing the storyline I started seeing sometimes. It's extremely rare but sometimes you can see sport cars driving in Wichita Gardens. And yes, it doesn't happen when I go from Cedar Grove to Wichita Gardens (because you know, when sport cars spawn in Cedar Grove and you keep driving to Wichita Gardens you may see some of them).

Yes, this is true. Either this street or the street Ammunation is located on. Those are the 2 best streets in Portland where those Rare Vehicles spawn (Bus, Flatbed, Trashmaster, Securicar, Mr. Whoopee, etc, etc).

I've now seen the Trashmaster loads of times in SI, but I am always doing something in which I can't get it, so I let it go by :/ I still need that one, but every other one is obtained.

Why are the logos on these discs different?

Old question, but the GTAIII logo was used on certain regions like France and Germany.

I know that, but the copy I own (with the GTA III logo) is the uncensored version. It was bought in the UK from GAME in 2002.

The differences with the original 2001 copy are: The case is blue instead of black, the RenderWare logo has been added on the back and the game has a "No1 best selling game on playstation 2" sticker.

Oh well, I guess I won't find an answer here.

Do you guys think that the Shoreside Vale Tunnels would ever have been completed?

There was never meant to be anything on the other end of the tunnel, we were just playing with ways to make the world feel like it continues past the physical boundary. It’s something that we’ve been pushing in all sorts of ways ever since, making the world you experience as a player feel like it’s part of something bigger. This tunnel was one of our first little baby steps in that direction.
