Too much radar clutter?

I'm not sure about everyone else, but the radar clutter in free roam is pretty bad.

I find it hard to even see if I have full armor or health because my radar is covered in useless blips for jobs that I don't really need to see at that time.

So should R* add more radar options? Give us the ability to disable jobs from showing on the radar, disable specific places, etc..

Yes please, and maybe the job marker it self. It looks ridiculous with all those small rings all over the world.

- And when you accidently enter one.

I want to be able to turn the blue icons off, both the mini map and the blue circles in the '3d map'.

No.

I'm just kidding I totally agree. Can you imagine what it would be like if I really didn't?

Crazy!

Yeah, the ability to disable job markers would be a great addition. Let's hope it's added at some point.

Didn't they think of right-click on the D-Pad as the sensible option for activating a job when you walk into the marker?

Then you could walk into a marker and wait for your friends and crew to join you before pressing to activate and starting a lobby together.

It seems so obvious!!!

Finding north to orientate myself is a real hassle with all that blue mess hiding everything. Also while were at it coloured blips.

Job Markers are unneeded. Both in map and the in-game coronas.

they should make it like single player where you cant walk or drive into the garage you have to press a left (or is it right) on the d pad to enter, should be the same when you enter a mission circle or a garage online

crashed my bike near the door of my garage and was unable to retrieve it on foot without triggering the enter garage animation first lol

Indeed, way too much icons in the radar, it was bad enough with the job markers but now we have Icons for everything, that's annoying ! An option to remove them would be nice

Put it this way, if we had never had any blue markers at all, and then one day someone comes on here and suggests the idea of introducing them, I think we all know how that idea would be received.

Not sure if this already works, but whatever setting you have on the map (low or high detail) should be reflected on your radar.

Then they should change low detail to remove all the job icons, not remove the store icons.

Most of the discussion on these boards about that is summarized in this crowd-sourced concept:

basically yes, things are cluttered, make the blue jobs optional and then add some small, but very important changes to help make the map more useful

I agree about on the collapsed mini map, but on the bigger minimap/pause map however; the map would just look empty without them. I guess I could get used to it, but it'd make the map seem a lot lacking in terms of interactivity. There should be an option to turn them off though.

However they should get rid of the function of walking into coranas to start a job, but instead you walk into them and press right on the d-pad. Would be a lot better as its very annoying when you randomly walk into one during a battle. I would rather this feature than having the job icons being turned off, having said that; both are easy enough to be implemented so there's no excuse from R*, especially when 30 played blips come into play.

I guarantee that Rockstar won't allow us to remove the blue job markers, because they want them to be in our face so we can't say, "There's nothing to do...".

It's just a dick move.

Yup. Also I dont really need the tank, jet and buzzard icons to have such a huge point size on the gamertag font. As it is now it takes up about 1/5 on the expanded mini map. If you're too stupid to see that theres a player in a tank then you deserve to be killed.

Would you support the tank and aircraft icons being changed to a smaller size (identical to player dots)?

Some players are using the "it's too big" reason to argue against the icons, while not expressing their general dislike of player's being able to see a tank on the map.

It's the same with lots of the mechanics in GTA:O. Even things like switching TV channels. It seems obvious to have a 'channel-wheel', similar to the weapon wheel or radio wheel, instead of toggling through channels, live feeds, and CCTV cameras one by one. When someone rings on your doorbell you should be able to view who is outside with a single button press, not a two minute flick through the channels after switching your TV on. The mechanics are in the game, Rockstar have built them, but the user interface designs are terrible.

Radar clutter - How about start with none and people can choose to activate it all if they want. And like you say - who would choose to switch on all the blue junk? Nobody.

the summer intern designed the UI for rockstar. I've thought the same thing about the TV channels and the CCTV. door's ringing, then it takes a 10 minute process to see who's there, then they've already left. channel wheel is a good idea.

I agree OP. Icons for races, deathmatches and such, that I will never do, should have an option to disable.

YES!!! There are three R* verified jobs in the most stupidist places ever. There is one Derectly infront of my apartment, (I like in Integrity) One infront of the enterance of the maintanince tunnel, and one directly infront of the f*cking heist building! Its blocking the doors for f*ck sake.

Why do we even need these damn mssion markers in the first place when we can access them through the pause menu?
