I think not. I have all platinum awards except for thumbs up and rally races. Nobody ever joins when I host rally races and those that do usually leave when they realise.

It's the most random and frustrating game mode ever, so no... I do not like it at all. Especially the role of co-driver is frustrating as hell.

I'm wanting to play one to unlock the metal paints. I have a guy that tried to help me out, but we never manage to get other 2 people to join.

 

The irony in this is that once I joined a random that started playing random jobs while I was with my 2nd character (Bycicle races, survivals, you name it) And once he started a rally race...And I won it. So I have the metals with the 2nd character but not my main where I want them most. Unfortunately this guy was an annoying kid constantly asking for money and let him win, so I never spoke to him after that

Am thinking criminal records race track you would not need a mic since its just a circle it would be too easy just need people to play lol

Rally races are awful. I have only done three or four whilst joining random races. I've been both driver and co driver and it is practically impossible without a mic. On some tracks it is impossible to tell the driver where to go using those stupid left and right arrows and once the driver goes wrong it is nearly impossible to get back on track. I had one race that went off roading through the desert, there was no way I could tell the driver where to go only using left and right arrows. I have quit every rally race I have entered as they have all gone wrong and never bother to do them anymore

If you just want the paints quick do ls forum race on roof of stadium trade wins takes a few minutes you dont need directing either

The rally races in GTA are an interesting idea, but don't really work with the way that races are run in the game.

 

A real rally race the co-driver has pace notes that give the layout of the track, and just has to tell the driver what's coming up in enough time so the driver can react. Plus, they have a standard on how to communicate. In GTA, you have to try to guide the driver, ad-hoc, to a specific point and even with a mic it's incredibly frustrating.

My metals are still locked. :(

 

Not sure if I would use them anyway.....

The metals are cool - the darker one really shows off pearlescence nicely and makes for less garish trim than chrome.
