User Created Jobs Verification Process

A GTA Forum member by the name of The Lonesome Drifter created a great thread, and it's essentially about the Rockstar User Verified Job system being flawed and it doesn't give the smaller man in the community a chance to at getting their job verified, I'm sure Rockstar does their best and I would be willing to help members in the community with getting their jobs known, all it would take is me hosting a series and adding the links of the jobs in the description and my subscribers and members of the community would be eager to play the best jobs of the week.

http://gtaforums.com/topic/741164-anybody-think-that-rs-way-of-getting-content-to-verify-is-unfair/

Because best the way for Rockstar to discover your job is have them notice it, and the job rating system in place helps them discover jobs, but someone without members rating their jobs will never have a chance at getting verified, for a better chance at getting verified you need a force behind you, a large Crew, Group or be a known Job Creator that already has users subscribed to his or her's social club account, and most people aren't that likely to have any of that.

So like I said in the thread that he created I'm interested in hosting and helping bring some spotlight to users that deserve a shot at job verification but I would need the help from the community with selecting the best Races & TDM's I just don't have the time to search through hundreds and thousands of jobs and having more than one person doing so the job would be easier and more efficient,

So if you would like to help me run this project let me know, it would help allot of people and possibly bring spotlight to someone out there that's the best at creating jobs that hasn't been discovered, please post here if you're willing to help, I'm getting allot of PMs but I rather the interaction be here for now.

Yeah this isn't going to end well

Why wouldn't it? There are great creations that go unnoticed, and this would be a great way to show them.

As long as good comes out of it, it doesn't really matter who does it. Even if this is a publicity stunt, I agree with TLD in that it's really unfair that you *need* advertisement to have even a small shot at the contest.

If you are interested in promoting good jobs, you should promote the races in the approved races threads (a good portion of the verified races started in those threads):

so the jobs we post havent got to do with the LTS event?

80% of the maps he'll be sent are going to be "ZOMG LTS IN LE SKY #1,000,000" if you asked his YT followers, but the fact he's posting it here we'll probably see more decent-ish-er maps.

We're going to need a good evaluation system. No one can possibly go through every job and determine the best of them. Plus, most of it is subjective. This is why Rockstar has reverted to a voting system.

It's going to take some time to evaluate a system that can measure a qualitative experience in a quantitatively intuitive manner. I'll see what I can muster. It's not an easy thing to do.

It's going to take some time to evaluate a system that can measure any qualitative experience in a quantitatively intuitive manner.

Most of the people who get verified now don't have 13k likes and 20k plays, R* focuses a lot more on quality over quantity now.

Do they? I don't know, I haven't played enough verified jobs to notice it. It wouldn't hurt us, however, to create an evaluation system of our own.

Yes, they do, they verified a race that only had 2 plays, 1 like and 1 dislike, so I think that would say something about R*'s verification system. After all, not all of us can host our jobs 24/7 anyway.

I think I'd be more concerned with categorizing. For example, Races: Sprints, Circuits, Barriers, Obstacle Courses, Themed, Short, Long, Difficulty, etc.

There would need to be a way to define at categorize each game mode. It's no small task, but doable. It's one of the few reasons I stay away from user created content. I have no clue what I'm getting myself into.

You can mostly tell what job you're getting into just judging from the title, description, photo, and the little map preview R* gives you on the SC. :sui:

This is about organization, not about whether or not I think user created jobs are bad.

Sugar Free Nos

Good for you. I think this series will be a much more productive use of the weight of your channel, and I think it's a step in the right direction.

As someone stated before, visit the Approved Races threads in the content creator section, it's full of fantastic races from cool creators. I even have one there.

A good friend of mine, King Solo also has numerous races in there. All of his work seems to be top notch.

Ironic seeing Sugar posting in here. I agree with him, though; great use of your "celebrity" status and make GTA what it was meant to be: a community. I think you'll have more luck here:

http://gtaforums.com/forum/302-content-creator/

I go in there sometimes for inspirations and just maps to try out and everyday there's threads that just die from lack of attention. Some of those are genius and just fall off the map. It's sad - hopefully you can see what's a good map and what isn't. :)

Unfortunately for us, flawed systems such as youtube have been exploited and flooded with idle speculation and useless drivel that has no bearing on entertainment value or inherent application to anything other than ammassing enough views or subscribers to justify their existence.

Yet here we are

Hello Mr. Islive,

I have never watched one of your videos but I admire on principal any man who can stoke the kind of frothing hostility I see whenever your name is invoked here.

First, I suggest you focus on DMs, Captures, and LTSs. The problem here is that matchmaking in this game is still so sketchy that it's very difficult to get a full lobby for something like a deathmatch or capture, and if a person that's interested in user-made content is going to go through the trouble of doing that, they're going to do it for their own content, not someone else's. Thus, there's very little feedback for those kinds of matches, very little sharing. Races are comparatively easy to review, because they can be done solo. But the combat-based PvP matches have an impossibly high noise to signal ratio, as it's just too difficult and inconvenient for us to play each other's games.

So basically, I'd suggest you use your fanbase to get full lobbies for about 10-12 ineresting looking DMs/captures/LTSs (don't know if you stream, that could be cool too), then take a consensus at the end and pick 2 or 3 to highlight in your video. (I don't know how often you update but I'm thinking of like twice a week for that). Throw too many choices at people and they'll all blend together.

In the meantime, if you're looking for a baseline of quality for stuff to consider, the description is usually a good indicator of the amount of thought a person has put in. If a person types like a youtube commenter (no offense) he probably hasn't put a lot of thought into his job. Not that a person needs to be a great descriptive writer, just show that they have the attention to detail you need to make a good job (creating a GTA job is basically a masterclass in idiot-proofing, literally anything you let your players do wrong, WILL be done wrong).

Anyway. Whatever that's worth, here's a plug for a job I made that people seem to dig. I've been playing it over and over again and still haven't gotten bored with it: Rooftop Sniper Battle (LTS)
