Had a Colnago Master circa 1990 frame done up as a single speed a while back.. looked proper ruined but nothing could get near it.. all kinds of strange alloy metal made it light as but it was sooo rigid.. it'd just soak up any bumps or the like. Then I turned into a fat bastard and it was too much for me. *sigh* memories... I had a flip-flop hub on mine and I did try fixed for a while.. only problem was the gear ratio I ahd was pretty high 18-72 IIRC*, so it was a bit hard to get a quick acceleration but in terms of top speed I flew... downside obviously being braking on fixed was bloody hard... soon went back to single speed with one brake on the front... back brakes are a bit of a fallacy tbh... seen enough people jacknife because they don't have a clue how to brake properly.. *don't quote me on the ratios as my single speed days are distant memory now... But it was more a gentle downhill gear setting I used, so like I say, not the fastest off the start but once up to speed it was hard to catch me.. I do remember mistakenly buying a 12 cog and being told it'd probably snap my legs trying to cycle with it.. Great point. There's also that Hipster Rampage in SP that features hipsters riding into combat on Fixters and Faggios. I'm not sure what makes the Fixter different from other cycles. Smooth steel frame... Mismatching rims, mmmm... The ability to customize bikes at bike shops would be cool, seeing as most of the fixies you see irl are custom built. If you have a photo of a fixter with a different colour scheme, feel free to post it! The big problem with a fixie is how terrible and slight beards are in this game. A hipster on a fixie needs a long beard, or least decent facial hair. This game has many good points, but the facial hair isn't one of them.
