Passive Mode Update makes me rage

Exact change is passive mode is completly useless now tends to be the worst thing for me since i play the game smart and use passive mode in difficult situations

Why these next few suggestions haven't been implemented is beyond me.

 

Passive mode should NOT decline access to your weapons.

You should be able to use your guns whenever you like, however you like...

except for killing players.

I never killed anyone while I was in Passive Mode.

If you do that, it takes you out of Passive Mode for a minute and then you can kill me when you respawn.

I don't have the balls for that.

Instead, I'll run away from you while in Passive Mode, then turn it off, then throw a sticky-bomb on my car, wait 60 seconds, and then suicide-bomb you so that I can turn Passive Mode back on as soon as I explode us both.

Im a competive player so when i got killed 8 times in a row due to the retarted new passive mode system it drove me in insane because no one usually gets more than two kills on me unless they use bombs jets or tanks and passive mode is completely useless i bet in the next update theyll remove it

Why does r* have to be the stupidest people in the world by changing how the game was it just kicks me out of passive mode and i get trolled by people in buzzards because r* doesnt know what the f*ck they are doing every update they ruin the game i just raged so hard because these kids think their so good flying from 100 feet in the air just spamming rockets whilr i click on passive mode and it kicks me out of it for no appearent reason

I was 100% sure I was in passive as I walked into an ammunation last night. Someone had tailed me there so im sure I set it as I was checking to see if I unlocked any gun tints as I knew I was close.

 

 

Before I knew it my tail had entered the store and gunned down the clerk.

 

As a knee jerk reaction I jumped behind the counter and took cover only to be shot in the head.

 

So the taking cover took me out of passive?????

 

I raged so hard I suicide bombed dude at least 10 times to fvck up his k/D as my boy was heavy sniping him when I was busy respawning and rigging a new car.

 

Now I know what happened I think.

 

Pretty much this happened to me yesterday. Went gun shopping with Passive Mode enabled (so I wouldn't have to worry about getting murdered by some d'bag), and (as expected) someone appeared out of nowhere and started shooting the place up from the comfort and safety of their car outside. I react by taking cover, then realiized I didn't need to because I had Passive Mod enabled so I stood up and was shot through the door/wall of the place. Whether Passive or not, you can't not take cover when bullets just start flying like that. I was pissed, to say the least. Nice to know it was probably taking cover that basically got me killed, though.

 

Jacking NPC's cars also seems to deactivate it, which isn't such a problem. BUT I've gotten in/out of my own Personal Vehicle to find it had been disabled.

 

Passive Mod is so f'ing whack now... seems like they're intentionally trying to ruin it so that you literally can't do anything while Passive...

Screw passive mode, when annoying players are coming after you quickly open your phone and join a job then back out. It'll teleport you to a random spot on the map but keep you in the same session. Some players wanna kill you so bad they'll drive all the way out to Paleto to get you, as soon as they get there I'll teleport back to Los Santos and LOL for hours. AND it puts your PV right in front of you.

Passive mode is good in theory but 95% of the people I come across that use it abuse it.

 

Most of the people I see in passive either just got blown up in their jet/tank, just got killed from their rooftop/camping spot, or just took a cheap kill and use it so you can't kill them back. They are also the players who brag about their k/d when they play the game like a bitch.

 

As a person who has used passive maybe a handful of times since I've owned the game I hope they never fix it so all the bitches who use it actually have to fight now instead of relying on cheap tactics.

 

If you use passive because you just want to be left alone I feel bad for you but blame all the bitches who ruined it not R*.

Nerfing Passive Mode doesn't remove all cheap tactics.

Since they updated it, I've simply killed myself a lot more often.

And teleported. There will always be ways to adapt to changes.

What happend to passive mode anyway? Haven't tried it out yet.

Let me explain it the best I can.

Most of the time, if you exit a vehicle while in Passive Mode, the timer starts counting down from 10 seconds, like if you had chosen to "Disable Passive Mode".

The problem with this is I STILL don't know if I'm vulnerable in those 10 seconds, much like you would be if you chose "Disable Passive Mode" and had to wait for the 10 second timer to count down.

Apart from that, sometimes it DOESN'T kick you out of Passive Mode when you exit a vehicle.

And OTHER times, it just takes you out of Passive Mode for no reason.

Also, sometimes after you've been killed and respawn, if you go into Passive Mode as soon as you respawn, the timer begins counting down... after you JUST chose to enter Passive Mode.

Like I said - There are no absolute rules. It does what it wants. I've been killed twice now because of Passive Mode deciding it wants to throw me out of it.

Yet the majority of people who agree with you have probably pre-ordered the PS4/XB1 game already.....so R* should give a crap about doing a better job managing their game why again?

 

Gran Turismo 6 just had its 1st patch screw stuff up after almost a year after release. They hotfixed it two days later....then the problem only in online play that didnt affect everyone was fixed before a week passed.

THAT is a properly managed video game.

If the controller thinks you pressed the A (X on PS3) button twice when you go to select Enable Passive Mode from the interaction menu it'll enable then disable it, bringing up the 10 second countdown timer, a really annoying flaw in the menu operating system. They should add a 2nd step to disabling passive mode (like pressing a different button for confirmation) so you can't accidentally turn it off a split second after turning it on.

 

 

I have to say I haven't come across the situation where passive mode turns off when exiting a vehicle, that would bug the hell out of me too.

That's not what is happening.

What's happening is if you respawn after dying or being killed and you go to turn on Passive Mode, the timer starts counting down on its own and you have to turn Passive Mode back on when the 10 seconds is up.

That is proof enough that it's not someone activating it and then accidentally deactivating it, because if that was the case, that person would have to wait 60 seconds to reactivate Passive Mode.

You can't spawn-kill me. I use Passive Mode, "Kill Yourself", and the Quick-Race warp.

Yes, it's pretty annoying. I don't know when it happens and why it happens, I don't see a system behind it. I don't think it was planned by R* and that it is just a bug. Now we'll probably have to wait for patch 1.18 until this sh*t gets fixed, great.

 

Luckily I got killed only once so far because of this. I suicide bombed a bounty, we respawned, I went passive, he came to kill me, I wanted to act cool and slowly walked out of cover and did the thumbs up action, boom dead. 10 seconds after I enabled passive mode. I can forsee many many frustrating moments waiting for me in the future.

 

Please R*, fix it, now.
