Should Non-Combat Aircrafts Have Icons?

As we know with the 1,17 Update added icons for Jets and Buzzards which i think is fine but those icons also show up for non-combat aircraft such as the Frogger Helo, or Vestra Airplane which i see as a big neon sign for those who are in jets to come and get us.

 

So what do you think? Should non-combat aircraft have icons too or is that a big neon sign for jet griefers?

I throw sticky-bombs on every airplane I get into and then detonate when I get close to another player.

They're all lethal.

Well Non-combat aircraft weren't really that much of a threat or nuisance in the first place, so I don't see any reason to.

There should just be a distinction between the two. (lethal/nonlethal)

 

tbh the new icons are okay with me in theory, they just need to make a lot of tweaks to improve them.

I haven't even seen them yet but the idea sounds really stupid. Not only is any aircraft a target for jets but you also are a red flag for anyone on the ground that likes to fire the sneaky rounds at anything they see in the air regardless of lethality.

Seeing someone move rapidly across blocks on the radar was plenty good enough for anyone that can put two and two together.

 

Sometimes I flew in line with the roads to appear on the ground but now that tactic is out the window.

I think they're useful. For example, if you want to start a coordinated attack when your friend in a Vestra parachutes out, you can now know the instant the guy jumps out. While it might be better to use mics, some don't have that luxury (or a common language).

If you're having issues with players avoiding you because they see that icon, what are you going to do when(if) R* comes out with something to take down aircraft? Get better now or just give up; we're bound to get more powerful weapons or weapons designed specifically for an Anti-Aircraft role eventually. Learn how to use that icon to your advantage; have you heard of the Battleship Tirplitz and the concept of "Fleet in being"?

Then they would need to implement radar so that they'd have something to be stealthy from.

 

Unless... you didn't think that 'stealth' aircraft are actually invisible to the eye, did you? I will totally ridicule you if you did and are not 9 years old.

 

Just in case, 'stealth' aircraft are invisible to radar under the correct conditions. But they still make noise, heat and reflect visible light, so everything else can detect them.

 

Back OT, technically, all aircraft are 'combat' aircraft, because of dive-bombing and rotor-killing. Plus it's nice to know the the radar dot that keeps running circles around you is doing it at at several thousand feet above your head, as opposed to thinking there's a wall-breaching invisible person trolling you.

Unless they fly the plane into you they're not going to be a issue.
