Passive mode has a problem, I think.

There are times when I see the Tanks or Jets, I activate passive mode to be protected, but sometimes passive mode is automatically removed without my noticing! And when I get out of a car, the passive mode is also removed. Is this a bug or Rockstar did this voluntarily?

Hasn't this always been the case? As far as I know you can be killed while in passive and in a vehicle but once you get out you're still in passive.

I've never been in passive mode when inside a vehicle. I'm an aggressive driver.

Maybe if you rely on passive mode in Free Roam so much, it would be better to play Invite Only? Following your example, you would be moving out of the crime-ridden areas to areas where criminals aren't going to kill you on the street. Either that, or get better and actively avoid the tanks/jets/buzzards.
