Bounty Hunters More Handicapped Than Ever

I would be fine with the radar callouts on planes and helicopters, but what is this crap with instantly jumping to an apartment invite? I'm sick of Rockstar enabling cowardly, unsportsmanlike behavior in the bounty hunting game. Nail them down and make them face the music. No more switching sessions, no more hiding in apartments.

And for crying out loud, autoban people for wall breaching when they are under a bounty! There's no effing excuse for that.

This all amounts to discrimination against a part of the community playing an activity Rockstar created and keeps undermining.

I'm clearly not saying they should be banned for every infraction against the bounty system. If you want to join a job, no problem. I think you should pay a fine. Maybe $1k that goes into your bounty reward. If you keep switching, your bounty just keeps going up. Maybe the time period should extend also. Maybe at $20,000, you're finally stopped from running away and you get locked to the session and can't do jobs until the bounty clears. I mean, we can get creative with it. The only banning situations should be when people glitch to troll people coming after their bounty.

If it makes any of you feel any better, I bounty hunt with a professional decorum. Once I collect, I LEAVE YOU ALONE. You kill me once for killing you, fair enough. If you were a particularly squirmy opponent or you spawned right next to me, I might even send you a cut of the bounty. The point is, it should be fun for all involved.

And seriously, who can't manage 1k? No problem with spotting them the cash and just adding it to the bounty.

Bounty Targets who leave the session or join a job should be penalized

Anybody else sick of bounty targets who cowardly hide in their apartment, wall-breach, or leave the session right when the bounty is placed on their head?

Here is what should happen to bounty targets when a bounty is placed on their head...

- They cannot be allowed to enter their apartment/garage

- They can leave the session BUT they must pay off the bounty that was placed on them with their own GTA$ and the GTA$ returns to the bounty hunter

- They can join a Job BUT again, they must pay off the bounty that was placed on them with their own GTA$ and the GTA$ returns to the bounty hunter

If you're a bounty target either stick it out and fight like a man to all who come after you. Ammu-Nation is there for a reason. Strap-up or shut up.

Wall breaching is fun when having a bounty. When you drive fast enough trough the car park one near Alta, you end up in the metro tunnels.

That's what I call an escape!

agree with OP 100%. I thought you couldnt go to your apart/garage anymore to run down the timer? I thought the timer stopped. Disagree with Nyunyrgh tho using the wall breach but I do agree that the metro tunnels are a excellent avoidance technique when you got a bounty but get there like your meant to.

I also give 50% back to the hunted if I enjoyed the chase and they made it a fun fight. Hell if the guy is low level I've seen me give them it all. I just like chasing bounties for the fun factor.

and your point is, in free roam your task is to SURVIVE by any means necessary (even if your selling cars and organizing meet ups). so if you got a bounty on your head you run to the border (apartment). you dont just stand there and take it.

but does the timer not stop? Did they take that option back out cause they did at one update remove the option of hiding in your apartment to gain the bounty.

dunno, the last time i survived a bounty is when i was in my apartment doing drugs, and died as a result of drug use. but did keep the bounty.

I don't use the wallbreach often, cause most of the time I get bombed before I reach it. But when I manage to pull it off I enjoy the raging.

So you want the people with bounties on them to not protect themselves?

Where in my post did I state that? If your a bounty it's either handle your business (if you are a decent player) or try an alternative method by trying to find a spot on the map to hold it down. Not by hiding in your apartment, glitching or leaving the session like a wimp.

In Red Dead Redemption when a player got a bounty they didn't hide. They mowed down the bounty hunters coming after them and went on to a new location to repeat. They didn't stay in one spot.

Ok, let him, he has to stay there for 45-50 minutes to lose the bounty, for how much, 9k, let them, they suffer more than you

There should be a restriction on that. You can't join jobs or if you do leave the session you must pay your bounty off using your own GTA$.

Why is OP so buttmad? Bounties shouldn't be able to defend themselves?

So what your saying is having a bounty means you can't join jobs or change sessions to join friends? So your proposal is to make a bounty worse then badsport? Being able to pay off your own bounty would mean there wouldn't be any bounty hunting except for people who really want to be hunted

I got a bounty and I blocked myself into a corner with my PV. Then I took 2 random cars and formed a barricade and took cover behind it all. If you blow me up, you'll destroy my PV and have to pay more more money for insurance than you'll get for the bounty.

No wonder the GTA Online community is going downhill.

So you'd prefer if bounties stayed in one place and let you kill them?

Most bounty hunters don't care about the payout they care about the kill... also I could just throw tear gas the barricade and watch you die slowly.

joined a session. had a bounty. jet circled my building for 5 minutes. got tired of waiting for him to leave. he blew me up 2 blocks away. he crashed flying away. I sent mugger. someone else killed the mugger.

top gun got 5k for my bounty & lost 10k from my mugger.

If you think people is stupid and you're a genius here then you should never come back.

Besides, your idea is to limit people with a bounty so you won't get upset the next someone just want to leave the session. You want the bounty system to be worse than bad sport lobbies. So I won't be able to join my friends in a race just because you want that cheap hitman bullsh*t? Yeah, next thing you'll be bitching is people having guns while they have a bounty.

So no, I won't pay more or limit myself to stay in one session just because I got a random bounty while I took a car from the street.

You can't stop them from turning the game off so trying to stop them switching sessions or hiding in an apartment will do nothing. Pussies gonna be pussies. Move along and don't take the one that got away so hard. You old grizzled fisherman....

Just no. If I have a bounty on my head why should I not be allowed to take part in jobs. The timer doesn't count down when you're in a job so when you respawn in free-roam you still have to survive for the same period of time.

Why you mad? Who are you to dictate how another player plays their game? Get a grip ffs!

If a bounty hides in their apartment it's their problem. The timer pauses so it is of no benefit to them, unlike in the old days when the timer kept counting down. If some fool puts a bounty on me I'll let a friend take it. If that means switching sessions, tough sh*t, you shouldn't have put a bounty on me.

If they hide in a wall glitch get a friend and go for a passive sticky bombing or report them and move on. Either that or report them and get over it. It's no big deal really.

If someone leaves it may not be that they're being a "pussy". They may have got a game invite or their game/console froze, they're gagging for a dump, they have some real life stuff to do etc etc.

As other have said, I guess you just expect bounties to come to you so you can claim them to help increase you e-peen. It's only a game dude.
