Officer_Dufus
I have not played GTA 4 in years. Earlier in the summer, I tried to install the game on my system once again. The installation goes through flawlessly until the second DVD where it says that it cannot read a file. I have tried to copy the contents of the second DVD to a folder on my drive, and it also shows the same error for the same file. The DVD is clearly "damaged," although there is no visible damage to the disc itself. My question is, are there any legitimate torrents for GTA 4 that I would be able to use my legal KEY with? I would rather only have to download one of the two DVDs if possible, due to the fact that my first GTA 4 DVD is OK. Will this post get deleted because I mentioned the "terrible" phrase of downloading a game? I really do not want to spend another $30 on a 7 year old game, and if it comes to that, I'll simply do without it. Thank you. radioman
I really do not want to spend another $30 on a 7 year old game, and if it comes to that, I'll simply do without it. First of all, the game is no where near that much now a days-it is ONLY $9.96 at any Wal-Mart, Target, K-Mart, etc. store, so it is dirt cheap to replace it. Next, having to BUY a NEW LEGAL copy of the game will hopefully teach you to take better care of your game discs in the future, so this does not happen again? I know-I have had my copy of GTA III since 2005 and the discs still work great-same for VC, SA, IV, and EFLC discs-and I keep all my GTA game discs in one case. Just buy the game again-it is cheap (less than $10) and you will have no problems. GTAForums DOES NOT support illegal game download discussion as per the Rules. Officer_Dufus
Surprising enough, this is the first CD or DVD I have had that has failed - so please don't lecture me on how to take care of my discs. They are either in the drive or in the case. As I said there is no visible damage to the disc as well. No scuffs or scratches. Nonetheless, it won't read past a certain point on the second disc. Is it really illegal to download a game when I am a legitimate game owner? Just like making copies of things I already own without selling them - there is no crime. alexslx
It is not illegal in most countries as long as you do not use cracks (tampering the protection) and use your CD-KEY to register it. I'm not good at keeping disks safe, so I always try to get or convert into a Steam/Origin/Whatever system you like. Regards,
Jigglyass
Find the torrent but do not use the crack supplied with it. Problem solved.
EvilDog77
GTA games always go for cheap during Steam sales and the winter sale is not far off. I'm gonna pick one up myself as my discs gave me a lot of CRC sh*t last time I reinstalled.
