Realism. How has it impacted the series?

^ flying out of the windshield was a fun, unrealistic(it's physically impossible for the driver of a vehicle to eject out of the windshield) aspect of IV because

-it didn't kill you instantly, barely even affected health

-you could you it to have all sorts of fun with the ragdoll physics

-most importantly IT WAS f*ckING CONSISTENT

But for some reason gta5 wanted to be different and made it the single most annoying feature I have ever witnessed in a video game. The f*cking inconsistency on top of the instakill is just atrocious. It would be better if they just completely removed that sh*t if they won't revert it back to how it was in IV.

I hit a barrier in a Rapid GT a few days ago at top speed and nothing happened. Last night I hit an SUV in a Schafter not going nearly as fast as that Rapid GT, yet I flew out the windshield and died. Stupid f*cking game.

Yeah, I don't complain over IV's windshield deal, but in V...0/10 score. Worst f*cking garbage ever.

People also claim that the wanted system is realistic. Well I just got a wanted level for honking at some idiot sitting in the turning lane who wouldn't even move. How do you get a wanted level for honking? What the f*ck is this sh*t?

1 star lol.

I've never seen anyone post they think the wanted level is realistic. If you looked at a policeman in real life, and then run away from him, he's not going to shoot you. It's most definitely not realistic.

Wait until you're spotted by another cop..........2 star! Wait until you kill 1 cop...............3 star! Wait until you try to escape and run into some goon cops in a road block................4 star!

You can see where this is going. Worst system to date.

It happened to me as well. If you honk to someone while stalling in the vehicle they will going to call cops on you sooner or later because they take it as harassing i guess.

Not to mention if you honk a cop...

Or security guard at the gates of the airport and movie studio. Try to just steadily drive through the ramp in the film studio as Michael and you will see the guard coming towards you. If you stop and not drive it further you`ll get instant 1 or even 2 stars sometimes and he will pull the gun out on you for no reason. Amongst all that he will insult you as well.

You should ask yourself what for you DON`T get a star in V.

Just standing in front of a pedestrian may make them become uncomfortable and let out a "I'm calling the cops!".

In real life if you stare at someone with a few feet between you, without saying anything, that might happen.

Happens at the worst times.

Try spinning the tires behind a cop car. Give it 10 seconds, you'll get a wanted level for burning smoke of the tires, lol...Try to stay there after you get 1 star for a few moments, it'll increase to 2 stars and soon you'll be in a gun fight.

But I can see we are going off topic again and just pointing out how horrible the systems in V are for many things.

So do people wan't realism?

To the extent where is at least little realistic but also fun. Because if i`d would be 100% realistic then how you would have some fun?

Imagine the traffic regulations and weapon laws are anything like in real life...you`d get few years in jail just for a possesion of RPG or hiting a ped. And the game would end..

I`d say HD era has pretty good combination of realism and fun but with certain flaws in wanted level system mentioned before.

Realism hasn't really impacted this game as much. Falling from certain heights still is sorta fake. Shootouts in watch dogs feel more real (Not to compare). NPCs are pretty sole-less meaning they do nothing but walk around, drive around, talk on their phone, lay down somewhere, working out.. But their not really as interesting as GTA4 NPCs .. they had life. they would be cleaning (Sweeping). .. repairing a car. Drinking coffee. carrying grocery or something. I feel like GTA5 shoulda been all of that x2

In terms of realism This game could use tweaks

- The Worthless ambulance and Paramedics system.

- It may sound stupid but If you get in an accident nearby a cop WHERE THEY CAN SEE YOU you deserve a star.

- You should be able to silent-kill 10 people in a backyard without getting a star. Watch dogs was hot sh*t but the had a feature, where as you knock out or kill the witness before the cops even know about it. Rockstar Observe

- If I'm driving on the sidewalk and I knock down (5 People) In area where hardly no one sees and speed off (Zentorno) - Theres no need to have a star - which leads to the cops randomly spawning everywhere according to your speed. SMH

- Police Officers needs to be seen roaming more because that would perfectly explain how you get stars (in the city)

- Police Officers should draw tasers on 1 or 2 stars instead of Guns all the time.. They shouldn't draw their pistols until they see yours. (Guess its based of real life tho = Shoot first)

- NPC needs to have different "die-Out" animations and different bleed out scenarios

- Car Signals

- NPC Mechanics and Tow Trucks

- NPCs should catch the busses and taxis more.

- You should see drunk NPCs leaving the bars in taxis at night (That is real life... wasted at the bar, you catch a cab home)

- NPCs should attack amour trucks, Do more robberies , Do heist, steal cars, be doing simeon type work. (Rockstar made it like your the only invincible one to do that lol)

- More NPCs shopping (Clothers Store, ammo nation, Drinking Etc)

- It would be cool if rockstar added animations showing pedestrians entering their house (This not gonna happen lol)

Realism

In weapons based on gun damage, percentages, distance, accuracy, area where hit, recoil, player experience/time/training/specialty, reload time...etc

Driving mechanics, real top speed best as possible...etc

I can go on all day, I would just like realism that gives a basic idea of what it would be like in reality on a certain level.

And the most anoyingly unrealistic thing in V are police pursuits. For crying out loud, cops in real life doesn`t coliding in you at full speed on purpouse. They are too scared to hurt THEMselves for that.

R* really need to change that stuff.

Right before V`s release day i was reading about V in some magazine which said that police pursuits will be as realistic as possible. Without any mindless crashing, only inteligent use of road blocks, stingers and PIT maneurs.

Instead of that we got kamikaze cops trying to kill you and themselves in a car crash.

True, there is alright but they didn`t scripted to use it that often. As a matter of fact, i haven`t run into stingers in my whole year and a half period of playing V yet. Not even once. Roadblocks yes but stingers never.

I`ve also notested that cops in IV are trying to stop you more wisely than in V even if the AI is 5 years back from V.

In V they just ram into you like maniacs.

Oh and speaking of robocops in V, (biker cop) i only run into them once a while. Their spawning point seems to be on the east hiughway only. And they really aren`t that hard consider they carry 9mm handguns only.

The Police Bike can be found a few locations, one patrolling and viewing the highway with binoculars, another on the highway driving and patrolling, and another between 7 PM and 7 AM in Strawberry under the overpass at night in the little loop, along with the Police Transporter, Unmarked Cruiser, and Police Buffalo...

Not to mention the unrealistic police vehicle`s speed boost. Jesus you really need to drive a moded adder or entify x if you want to outrun them.

And the fact that robocop`s bike isn`t much slower than dinka akuma is also one big bullsh*t of it`s own.

Nah, no car in GTA V can "outrun" the cops. They have a rubber band effect to always be on your ass, especially if you use the camera to look behind you. You keep clicking it over and over and the cop car gets closer and closer by the nanosecond. It's a load of crap.

Theres only one person that can escape the cops successfully. lol Ill never forget this dude from 2:20 is epic lol.. notice how quicky the cops got back in their car. wtf... but even at 2:47 the cop is able to catch up a fcking tuneded up adder!!

and LMFAO look at 2:56//3:57//3:14(they risk destroying his car just to get to you?) ... 3:22,3:52,4:09(so cops are on top of chiliad?? really

The biggest impact realism has had, far as I can see, is that it's removed the childish cartoon-like quality that the 3D era games had.

It's a stark difference, and clearly some prefer the cartoony, immature, puerile GTA's of old over the much more mature, intelligent GTA's of now.

Case in point.

Realism?

I'd say that overall, the impact is pretty minimal. When it's there it's to amplify gameplay. More heft to gunshots, more sense of danger while driving etc. But in the end realism definitely isn't the goal. Features will never be added just for realism sake.

V feels more easy and simplified version of SR 2, which still provided plenty of fun, and w/o difficulty taken away at all.

3D GTA games were brilliant and offered a good mix of neither being extremely crazy, nor too easy that required a skill and maturity of a casual player.

It does seem easy now, simply because of drastic changes to the gaming experience with age and time, but back then, cheats used to mean a lot, and needless to say; quite fun to use, altogether!

HD games feel more like, they're catered towards a wider audience. Mainly the new and casual players who got no past experiences, rather evolving along with the modern gaming standards, that are absolutely different than the hardcore games which ass kicked, and used to sweat the players.

I could complete the main storyline of IV and V easily without cheats, or without any skill requirement, or the previous experience.

The most annoying thing about the HD games would be the ultra stupid realism thrown, that rewards you nothing, other than, make you dump the idea of having any fun around with the mechanics, otherwise a restart, or a wasted screen welcomes you.

Oh wait ...we've checkpoints system, and regenerating health for the more mature, intelligent players nowadays, making it furthermore easy to just play the button mashing, linear storyline, quickly finishing the progress, with the forgiving nature of the missions, and no creative approach making the replay more different.

Great!
