Old savegames send me in the beginning of the game when loaded

Hey, guys. I recently bought GTA San Andreas on Steam and the savegames I made on the previous (pirated) game don't load on the new game. When I try to load them it sends me in the beginning of the game with no missions done. I have a 100% savegame that won't load up and I don't want to go through the whole game again so please help!

I think it's because of the version difference. A pirated copy and the original steam version.

The problem you're facing occurs when you try to load a savegame that was created using a different executable. The Steam version that you have will only load v2 saves that were created using a v2 exe. To confirm the exe version of your old savefiles, upload then to GTASnP and check what Executable Version it shows as.

 

To convert savefiles from one version to another, use hmvartak's Savegame Converter.

 

If you're still not able to load the savefiles, then provide us with the download link to your savefiles and we'll have a look at them.

I did it, but now instead of sending me in the beginning of the game it just crashes.

Your STEAM game is Version TWO, the v1 (Version one) is not compatible.

Something you did not mention that will affect use/compatibility is

Was the game modified when the saves were made. If it was then the saves will not work until the same mods are installed into the new v2 game.

Nevermind. I already fixed it. GATASNP converted it and now it's working
