I remember when the jet pilots were the good guys.

Back in the before times of 2013, it was the ground and air forces banded together against the tanks.

 

Then the tank got nerfed, and the jet became the next best griefing tool

From what I've seen in the B&M thread and numerous others, Passive Mode is glitched to the point where it turns off by itself when you do certain actions.

Its really not that hard to avoid being killed by Jet Griefers even before the icon was added. Im mostly on one of my sports bikes so all i gotta do is put alleys and corners where they can't reach me. It's also safe to say that most can't fly worth sh*t and end up taking themselves out before even killing anyone lol.

 

A good jet player can kill you anywhere. I was even killed by one while buying guns in Ammunation. If you hide in the alleys you will be killed by ricochets. They sometimes even seem to be able to shoot through walls. There is not much you can do against it on foot other than going in passive mode.

Instead of nerfing every military hardware and weapon in the game, R* just needs to re-design passive mode and extend it to vehicles so that those who want to play in peace can and play in peace and those who want to war and cause mayhem can do so. Someone suggested a while back that passive mode should be like non-contact races and I think with a few tweaks, that could work.

Jet icon is the dumbest addition to the game, including aircraft in general and helicopters. Not one sane person who plays this game would EVER ask for this sh*t.

I don't see how it's so dumb, even if you can obviously tell if an icon is moving fast it's a jet, now you can obviously tell a jet icon is a jet... What's the difference? Just adds to the game so you can look at the map and see what everyone is up to, I don't see what is not to like.

Lol... Not really jets, just anyone doing some lame sh*t like glitches, or going in passive/ragequitting/job jumping after dying in their jet. Its called manipulated the system, & I don't try, I succeed.

 

It was well known that 4 reports in the same lobby for Hate speech resulted in a ban, usually of 4 weeks depending on if you got in touch with R* through the support page.

I remember there was a bounty hiding in the ammunition up there (a while ago). I landed on the main street, taxi'd over, and lit up the ammunation with the cannons.

He must have been close to the doors, because it killed him.

To the jet pilots who claim they are not griefing wankers, I would say, you can have a lot of fun practicing your jet flying and having PvE satisfaction in an Invite Only or Solo session. Less lag for you, and no need to share your fun with a lobby who will not appreciate you. I'm sure you all can get behind that.

 

Funny how I never see any sociable jet action, like a few random jet pilots getting together in a lobby to fly in formation and put on an airshow. Seems like the only jets I know of, make their presence known by the sound of distant explosions, which rapidly get closer and louder.

 

Sociable jet pilot here. Most of the times I get a jet in public sessions I use it for stunt or formation flying. If there's a tank causing havok in the city then I neutralize the threat. Other than that I find it stupid and douchebaggy to go kill people on the ground who aren't a threat.

 

I like to try to fly in formation with other aircraft, do close fly-by's (try approaching a slow hovering helicopter from its underside [the belly] and avoid hitting the blades),etc. My first step is to select the cannon instead of the missiles so that the lock-on alarm won't scare the other pilots

 

And sure, I like dogfights too... provided the sport is done fair and square. Sadly, a lot, if not ALMOST all of the player base are douchebag kids. When I win a dogfight I leave the player alone and move on... I even send a message with "good fight" if it was a though enemy...

 

But pretty much all the times I lose a dogfight, I respawn and here comes the douchebag in his jet to spawnkill me WHILE I'M ON FOOT. Like I'm even a more serious threat up there without vehicle in a godforsaken hill in the middle of the night... Talk about good sports........

No it was in the city close to Del Perro apartments. The guy was stalking me and I thought it was safe inside Ammunation. It wasn't.Yeah, I figured.

I left that guy my jet after the bounty, that seems like a detail that wouldn't be left out of the story.

He must have thought it was a trap though, because he shot the engine several times and drove off.

Still buzzed over him before I ditched It into the ocean.

GTA = DTA. Funny most of you people play a multi player game that even the developer describes as moving up the ranks as CRIMINAL. Then you jump into a PUBLIC lobby with 15 STRANGERS and expect them to respect and trust you?

 

R* gives you options for passive mode,off the radar, mugger, friendly sessions like invite only, solo and crew(so you can"mind your own business") not to mention the weapons that can take out any aerial vehicle (with your "skill").

 

I also laugh at the person who says the jet pilot has no skill but is afraid to battle in a buzzard which actually takes skill. If you're truly skilled in a buzzard, then you shouldn't be threatened by the jet. The buzzard, besides a jet, is the best way to take out another jet. That is if you're actually skilled in a buzzard...

 

I've been killed plenty of times by a jet while grounded. I just start a quick mission, don't confirm the settings, ammo up, then exit the mission. I'm then spawned by my PV. Call my buzzard, call"off the radar" about a block from my buzzard and toward the base or kill him in the buzzard undetected. "Off the radar" goes away about when you hit base. Commence dogfight!

 

I would like to be able to pay for more "off the radar" time. Since everyone knows now.
