Stealing jets post 1.17 patch

Is it me or have they ramped up the difficulty in stealing a jet from Fort Zancudo without resorting to Lester's blind eye?

 

Now it seems the NPC jet that instantly spawns as soon as you get into a jet instantly starts shooting rockets at you. I don't remember him doing that before! I've stolen a good 8 jets and each time I got instantly fired on.

I just went in there earlier to show my friend the new jet icon. I stole a jet in the usual 30 seconds like I always do, nothing has changed. People need to stop over reacting with every update. So many "this got buffed" and "why was this nerfed" threads even though nothing changed.

I went in there and was surrounded by tanks instantly, I still escaped. I have only broke in three times since but it doesn't seem any harder than normal

@Fail_At_GTA You misinterpreted my thread, I was asking a question and telling what's happened to me, not trying to lay down a definitive fact.

 

Jumping to conclusions over thinking someone jumped to a conclusion? Really?

 

 

I have 11 million dollars so can easily afford Blind Eye over 2000 times, but sometimes you want a challenge and I wasn't expecting to be shot at so quickly by the NPC jet when I can't remember him doing that so quickly in the past.

This is a hit and miss kind of thing, I go in and get jets all the time and never had any issues until 1.17 and now just about every other time i go in i get chased by NPC jets or i'm surrounded by tanks or military guards as soon as my feet touch the ground and i'm dead before i ever get my parachute off.

 

Just last night i had an AA rocket hit me while i was quite a ways from the base but i like the challenge

When I landed a Titan on Maze Bank last night, a friendly Lazer approached me, he got shot down in the city because of the NPC Lazer.

 

NPC Lazer follows you to the city after evading it near the base.

Rule of thumb, never parachute in. Its a lot slower and you can save more time by driving in.

 

I always hop the fence (hehe) and drive straight to the jet. I come to a complete stop and kill the guard that's normally well, guarding the jet.

 

JUMP ON TOP OF THE JET before pressing Y (Triangle), it'll save you more time.

 

Get in and fly straight up, and keep going until you can't go up any more.

 

Then head any direction or call Lester.

 

There ya go.

If you know where the planes are and you can control your decent (i.e air breaks) then you can land right on top of the plane and you don't get any stars until your feet touch the ground and i'm in the air within seconds of landing.

 

While in a car you have 10-15 seconds before your in the air giving ample time for tanks to spawn

If you fly really low next to the fence surrounding the fort, the NPC jet never spawns.

I like it this way. Brings much more of a challenge. I never have used the blind eye option. I am a person that likes to get things done like stealing the jets the hard way.

Been doing some rudimentary testing, when flying low-ish over the base an NPC jet spawns right behind you and it shoots rockets the instant it spawns, occasionally I hear the target warning before seeing the jet appear (holding the left stick down to look behind for the jet). I don't remember the NPC jet being so vicious.

 

I do wish that bloody NPC would have a dot on the radar, all other NPCs that are after you have a dot of some sort! And he's such a persistant f*cker too, I just got killed 3 times by the same NPC in a jet because he followed me to Sandy Shores airfield, and I had to snipe him to stop him killing me whilst I was on the ground.

 

 

In my testing I've noticed more tanks getting that kill shot on me before I manage to take off, not sure if that's different from previous patches, but it does mean I might have a higher chance of stealing a tank with a cargobob and dropping it into a player infested zone to watch the mayhem it causes

Tanks come in faster, NPCs seem more aggressive, NPC jet chases you right after taking off and it's accuracy is supernatural. Sometimes theres no warning and my Jet suddenly gets engulfed in flames. Flying in different directions in attempt to dodge the missile works sometimes.

You have to be really bad at the game if you manage to get killed by 10 year olds flying a LAZER.

There are jets in almost every session. In fact way more than pre 1.17. Some of them are level 50s.

It has been ever so slightly more difficault to get a jet, the first time after the update I went to get a jet I flew in with my miljet only to have a npc jet spawn right behind me in the air and shoot me down

I agree. For me, prior to the update, an AI jet would spawn every time I stole one from Fort Zancudo. Now it seems like a 50/50 chance that a jet spawns. I do hate when they continue to chase you down even after losing all of your stars.

Legit griefers use Blind Eye because legit griefer mostly have Glitching funds.
