gears86
So now I reinstalled the game. This time I'm no longer using 1.0.7.0 but an earlier version as you can see and guess what, I'm STILL GETTING POP INS!!! I've tried the following commandlines, both all at once and even just me picking and choosing: -avaliablevidmem(multiple values to get close to where I want it to be, didn't work) -memrestrict(I've seen a list of these and tried all for high textures, didn't work) -reservedapp 0 -noprecache -novblank -refresh rate(any number) Yes, I used every single command line that people all over the internet such as this site, steam's board, Youtube, Google etc have suggested and not one has totally prevented the pop ins. And yes, I went as far as putting these functions in shortcut's properties too. I know that norestrictions and nomemrestrict are really bad choices for this too. I even used the following programs: Cleanmem CacheBoost, Minimem. None of those work. I tried alt+tab, didn't work either. They still won't get fixed. Only mods I have installed are the native trainer, mods that replace the glock, AK, MP5, M4 and both of the shotguns(This is GTAIV, I do not have any of the episodes) and TrafficFlow.net.dll/TrafficFlow.ini. I took out the trafficflow mod, which I know is that taxibug thing and yet I still get the pop ins. My dedicated video memory is 1024, total graphics memory is 4863. The card is am ATI Radeon HD 5800 Series I have 8 GB of RAM too. I posted this in another thread but that was mainly aimed at 1.0.7.0. My settings are all high except for shadows, which are off and my other settings look like this. View distance: 19 2nd option after view distance: 20 3rd option after view distance: 21 4th(only appears in 1.0.4.0): 0 The game works like this. Everything will work fine for maybe around 30-50 minutes as I cruise around Liberty City or even do missions, go on dates, hang with friends etc then later on textures will disappear/go ugly and when I pause the game I get a "blue hell" and if I go into a cutscene/exit a cutscene, the game will lockup/infinitely load. gears86
ATI Radeon HD 5800 Series 8 Gigs of RAM Windows 7 64 bit AMD Phenom II X4 965 Processor 3.40 GHz Without the use of command lines, my memory in the options screen looks like this if you have everything on high except shadows(they are turned off), 1920x1080 resolution, The options near the view distance(see first post): 732/1002 That is if you are not doing any commandlines like avaliablevidmem for example. I'm not getting any slow down/stuttering, just pop ins. Edited October 6, 2014 by gears86
fefenc
Are you using icenhancer 3? If yes, remove the road texture, that sh*t has given to me a lot of headaches with textures disappearing and crashes to desktop. gears86
No car mods or iceenhancer used but the closest thing to a car mod I have is trafficflow.net.dll and trafficflow.ini, which is a taxi bug mod. I've tried it without that mod but I still get this problem. Yet I notice that when everything is disappeared, I can see tons and tons of cars looking like they are "flying"(I say this because no roads are visible) and this is regardless of having that taxi bug mod installed or not. gears86
By the way, I notice that if you travel a lot, new spawned cars and peds spawn everywhere you go and yes that is normal but with them spawning so much, would that affect the memory in any way? And if so, does that cause the game go overflow with memory beyond the limit to where the pop ins appear?
