Coming next update: vehicle tires can't be shot out when a cop is behind the wheel.

Why not? Recently i got chased down by a cop in a Liborator.

It's just Rockstar taking out the fun in freeroam.. Quite sad, really.

Correct. If they wanted us to spend a long time in freemode they would have carried over the filtering features from IV on Day 1. Passive mode is a joke because as soon as you get into a car it's about as useful as a chocolate teapot......

It has, Rockstar broke passive mode.

If Rockstar adds a gameplay feature that no one asked for, I won't be surprised but I'll be very disappointed.

Could anyone please explain to me in what way passive mode was broken? I've been reading it all over this place but after trying various stuff myself I can't find out what is actually is.

Already tried searching for a thread about this but no luck so far.

Bumpity!

Today I shot a player controlled Annihilator's tail rotor off with Buzzard miniguns, and a staionary Maverick's tailrotor with a Heavy Sniper.

I'll test the Police maverick (Stationary and manned.) later and post the results.

The bigger the lie...The more people will believe it.

Apart from the fact that that's incorrect, please explain what lie you are referring to, or are you just posting random shit?

He's just a R* fanboy, bashing everyone without looking at the facts.

True. I wouldn't mind if he actually had something to say, but he never ever does, and he won't give me a serious answer to my question. I believe he's incapable.

They are tougher yes but still doable.

Thank you.

Can you prove this? I unloaded on a police helicopter's tail rotor with a minigun, and hit it a LOT, and it did nothing (until the helicopter blew up).

Well I only did it once. During Hack and Dash. Not in FM.

post or pre 1.17 ?

unrelated: never understood why the frogger was bulletproof on the tail rotor, yeah sure it's a fenestron tail rotor but it should still be breakable, at least it should stop spinning at one point if not for it exploding...

Maverick (manned) tested in MP and SP. That thing is stone cold indestructible. You'll blow the heli up before taking the tail rotor off.

Haven't tested a stationary one - I'll stop by Paleto this eve and give it a shot. Kind of academic, tho - if it comes off the only thing it will prove is that Cop Mavericks perform differently when there are cops in them, just like the cars/SUV's.

I think that is the case, since I could shoot off the tail-rotor of my friends chopper, but none of the cop's heli's even cared.

Honestly, R* have got to be taking the piss completely now. It would be perfectly logical to let us be able to that, If a bullet from a .50 Cal can penetrate a sheet of metal or a thin wall then it can disable a helicopters rotor.

It's not as if police arent OP already their spawning is more frequent than having 5 stars in Saints Row 2 (FBI show up nearly every 10 seconds), They have pinpoint accuracy from miles away and their cars have infinite mass.

In reality a .50 cal will disable a tanks tracks. I wish for this.

Next-Gen Vercettis

Does this apply to the enemy choppers in survival? Anyone tested that?

Yep - this is a new "feature" of 1.17. Finding this out was literally the death of me.

So they stop me sniping tanks, and now they stop me sniping helicopters. Thanks Rockstar. Thanks a lot

And before anyone says to shoot the pilot, yes I know you can do that. That is a lot harder and not always possible, whereas you could see the tail rotor nearly all the time.

I noticed something difference about Police helos in SP/MP...

In SP when you press the aim button your gun will actually target the pilot/gunner but in MP it won't do that

So basically you cant damage police choppers rotors, but you can now lock-on to the gunners(even while your driving) and shoot them. So much manipulating going on. Typical R* arrogance. They will tell(force) you how to play, not ask you how do you want to play.

Can't seem to blow a manned Police Maverick's tail rotor off, how sad. ;-; The stationary one got blown off just fine. It was the LSFD liveried Police Maverick though, don't know if that counts. Anyhow, the police got buffed again. <_< In other news, it seems we can now lock on to those pesky gunners at the sides, atleast there's a small positive side to this useless tweak.

RPG works quite well against polive helicopters..

Still not sure why they made this change though.

Forget the silly helicopters. Just get a jet and drive that around. Worries will disappear.

Still works on player controlled helicopters, just not police ones.

No way, I specifically tried this when I was in my Buzzard and the tail rotor didn't pop. I wanted to see what it felt like loosing control like the NPCs did in the past, but it didn't work. The chopper would blow up before getting rid of that indestructible tail rotor.

It applies to Survivals as well.

Ah, what a lovely way to enourage players not to use their brain when taking our helicopters, and encourage them instead to go Rambo on everything.

I'm pretty sure we could do that already. Maybe only in missions though, because I quite vividly remember my gun locking onto them while I was playing Hack and Dash.
