No pedestrians or traffic after loading game?

Hi guys,

 

I'm running a fresh install of Vice City (CD version 1.0) and every time I load a save file there is no traffic or pedestrians.

Happens with other peoples saves that I downloaded too so its not the actual save thats broken.

The game runs fine, I can do missions etc but there is just no pedestrians or traffic, which kinda sucks!

OS is Windows 7 64Bit, and here is a screenshot of speccy for my specs: http://i.imgur.com/Btp6pIX.png

This is a weird one, tried googling it but the results are a minefield of cheats and mods so had to come here!

Things I've tried:

• Changing data execution protection settings
• Running as administrator
• Disabling aero
• XP compatibility
• Deleting the .SET files and save files, then saving and reloading
• Setting affinity to 1 core (I use RadeonPro to set it automatically)
• Disabling/enabling SLI
• Setting default graphics settings
• Deleting Nvidia control panel profile

Fixed it.

Installed a no-cd crack.

Works now with this disk in or out, pedestrians and traffic load in, mods work.

WTF?

 

I thought no-cd cracks CAUSED save game issues!

Must be something wrong with SecuROM on my machine.
