Who else is annoyed by the Mechanic timer?

How can one possibly abuse the fact that we can call our cars more than one time in under 2 minutes? Why are we punished for using our own PV's that we bought with our own money?

 

Impound needs to go and the mechanic timer definitely needs to go. Yesterday I couldn't even access my own garage. I would drive towards it and nothing happens wow.

well if you want the same car you can go to the interactive menu and request the car....i dont believe its any timer for this way

 

but yeah if you want another car the timer is annoying

 

i had the garage thing happen to me too...there was no blue circle or anything....its a glitch i guess

If your car is impounded and your on the other side of the map then you are pretty much forced to call the mechanic for another car. But then the stupid timer gets in the way.

I can think of a way it could be (sort of) abused... Cars you call to you leave a "copy" of themselves. "Copy" enough cars and you have a massive roadblock. Might be used to mess up some missions? Wasn't there also something about copying cars to other players through something like this...?

 

Though, I wonder, what are you doing that requires so many of your PVs in such a short time? I never have any issues with it unless I'm doing a fleet-wide repainting, and even then it's not that big a deal.

the timer was added as s counter measure against a car duping glitch back in the day.

 

that glitch is long gone, i think the timer should go too

Aside from duping-for-money, it was also the only way to move cars around before we got that better method.

And since I'm not really into free-roam DMs, I never had that issue and didn't even think of it. Nice to know how others act/live... As long as the duping is patched, I'd say get rid of it then.

Why can we spam show all players for 500 $ but not spam off radar for 500 $??

So much redundancy. There should be atleast 1 impound in Blaine County too.

I have driven multiple PVs out of my garage to take pictures of them but they start disappearing after you've amassed four or five.

I hate his timer, I hate how he says "you are too close to you PV", I hate how he won't bring it to you unless you are on a road, and I hate how he won't get it out of the impound for you.

 

The timer should go, he should deliver it to the nearest road no matter where you are, you should be able to reimburse him $250 and he'll get it out of the impound for you, and the "too close" needs to go. What if I want a different PV? What if my PV is up on an unreachable overpass?

Most of the time I dont care but I have had times where someone keeps blowing up my car, the first time you just call it back but the next time you have to wait for the timer to expire which sounds petty to complain about but I didnt feel like standing there for a few minutes and stealing a car always seems to get me a bounty

Switch into passive mode before stealing a car and you won't get NPC bounties anymore. A few seconds or so after driving off you can leave passive mode.
